Just got a call from my best friend, she said her son tried to kill himself in school today. He was taken to the principal's office unharmed but now the state is going to force him into a mental institution for a 72 hour watch/exam starting tonight.
This boy is 5 years old and is in Kindergarten.
He recently just got out of foster care and his parents have tried really hard.
As soon as I post them am going over to their house to watch their other kid while they take him in.
Please pray for all in involved.
Big prayers and blessings. Age five is too young to try something like this. He does need to be in a hospital though.
Praying.
Boy, what a sad situation all the way around. Many prayers their way.
How are you doing Morgan’s? Hugs your way.
Morgana, hate auto correct!
God bless, and prayers sent.
Prayers for this young boy and his Family. In Jesus’Name. Amen.
“Why was he in foster care? He has parents?”
The short answer. Remember the old days when your toddler would get a way from you, get out the door and “Mrs. Gladys Kravitz” would call you and tell you what your kid was into? Well people today don’t do that, they call CPS instead.
These people are not bad parents what happened to them happens to all parents at some point and I dare any parent in here to tell me they have not lost their toddler while their back was turned, or had their small child dart away from them in a New York second.
I watched these parents do everything they were suppose to do to please the state in order to get their children back. The mother would pray every day “please God bring my babies back”. When she got them back all she did was hold them.
I witnessed first hand this the very day they were returned to their parents. I saw the trauma both children had. The older child was not as bad but the 5 year old had it to an extreme level and quite frankly I’m surprised this did not happen sooner.
As I’m typing this I just got back from the hospital. Don’t believe what I just saw. A 5 year old in the psych ward. He was crying and we can’t see him for 24 hours, only make phone calls to check up. Just before I left I said a Hail Mary to him but he was still crying.
Prayers for Scotty and his family. This has to be so difficult for them all. May your prayers assist in bringing Scotty home.
May the Lord wrap His arms very securely around this child.
Thank you, Morgana. That child in the ward, it is terrifying for a child to be in such surroundings.
I know the child will be Ok. The parents should take time off to be with both children. Their Church should witness for them.
It’s important the parents reassure constantly to the 5-yr old that this will never happen again. They should all do something together and with other kids to forget all this as soon as possible.
Here is a valuable tip for you to tell them: if CPS calls and asks for any information or to set up an appointment, the parents do not have to respond. Check with a lawyer, but give the CPS no information they can use against the family.
CPS will have to close out the case file with a report that there were no findings. They only have a certain number of days before they are required to close out a file.
Tell the hospital or clinic they are not to release any medical records without a warrant (that should be understood already). Make sure the child’s trauma is entered on the charts and what might have caused it. Get certified copies with a witness.
I am telling you this because you describe loving, caring parents who have had great misfortune. They need to distance themselves from the ordeal asap, get the rate of trouble to zero, take no risks in the next months.
Have them be careful around schools, community centers, any place where certain persons might be asked to report on them behind their back. Tell them to stay close to friends, church for witnessing.
If they can afford it, have the family attend a month or two of licensed Christian counseling. If they can’t afford it, try to raise the funds, try to intercede for them.
Be smart. This will blow over, but give it three to six months to be sure.
Prayers up for all involved.
Praying for your best friend, her son and all their family.
I never had my child bolt on me. None of my brothers and sisters or I bolted on my mom.
It is not normal for a five year old to be suicidal. Either something is wrong at home or the boy has mental health issues
Prayers.
