I attend one of the first offshoots of Redeemer and have for nearly 20 years. One of Tim’s big ideas is that culture spreads from the cities to the country. With the loss of churches in the cities, it would follow that eventually Christianity would fade in the country as well. So he has worked to build up churches in the cities to try to turn the tide. He has been quite successful.

Note: These are sermons based on his book - this is not the actual book, which I highly recommend

Keller is a pastor of a large Presbyterian Church in America church in NYC. He is reformed, calvinistic, and quite orthodox. Except for him being a yankee, which God forgives even if G.R.I.T.S. don’t, he is one of the good guys.

IIRC the church is one of the anchors of the PCA. We have a PCA church here and it is growing like crazy. They knocked the walls down to incorporate the Narthex into the Sanctuary and it is still standing room only. Lots of college kids.

Multiple pastors are discussed in the Religion Forum.
Are you the arbiter of what is religious news?
He started a church in the heart of Modern Bablylon (NYC) and is preaching the Gospel to 5,000 New Yorkers a week. I've seen people of all ethnicities and faith groups be baptized as new Christians in that church.
If you'll read this you'll see that he prefers to keep a low profile, but his influence world wide is quite remarkable.
Or watch this. He goes to the Google Campus and talks about the reasonable nature of faith.

Osteen is widely known. Warren is widely known. Franklin Graham and Robert Jeffress are widely known. There are several others who are well-known public figures. Obviously, they’re news.
I am one of a number of posters who has never heard of this guy until this article popped up in the forum.
Simple as that.

I heard a teaching of his about the Prodigal Son that was amazing in its insight. A topic I had heard discussed many times before but not like his. Since then, I have read many articles of his and have found him to be a very good teacher. he is also a leader in the Gospel Coalition, which has blessed many teachers.

Exclusivity: How can there be just one true religion? MP3 ~ There CAN ONLY BE ONE TRUE religion because there can only be one objective truth Et Via, Et Veritas, Et Vida! Truth can NOT ever be subjective, so I respectfully submit the following - Tim Keller is either misguided, or stupid, or deliberately deceptive... Flame on...

Did you listen to the MP3?
In that title he is presenting the sceptic’s argument. Keller explains how there is one true religion, and that is Christianity.
