I read the daily office for my morning devotions. Today's Old Testament reading is Isaiah 45:18-45. The reason it struck me is that the whole chapter begins with these words--
"Thus says the LORD to His anointed, to CYRUS, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed"
The actual text of the reading, addressed to Cyrus is:
18For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it empty, he formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the LORD, and there is no other. 19 I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek me in vain.’ I the LORD speaks the truth; I declare what is right. 20 “Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, you survivors of the nations! They have no knowledge who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save. 21 Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me. 22 “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’ 24 “Only in the LORD, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; to him shall come and be ashamed all who were incensed against him. 25 In the LORD all the offspring of Israel shall be justified and shall glory.”
“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth!"
A friend of mine on Facebook was not a big Trump guy and was on the fence what to do in the general election. He prayed about it and he said that one of the individuals whom God gave him to think about was Cyrus.
A day or two after he posted that, I saw this:

He voted Trump. I really believe there was a divine hand guiding this election.
There are traditional respected opinions that Cyrus was the son of Queen Esther and King Ahasuerus. He was born a Jew.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

I still say that the Trump meeting with the inner city black pastors validated his sincerity to Christ. They prayed together and the black pastors came away convinced that Donald Trump can be trusted.
Donald became pro-life in 2011 and never turned back, never wavered in his new commitment to life.
I know very well, quite near exactly why Donald strayed and walked around lost years ago. I can see the reasons why very clearly. But now he is 70 years old and sees his mortality and legacy. He is a Christian but remains practical in his political and business decisions. He is not a priest, definitely not a Saint. He is a warrior-statesman who bows before Our Eternal Father.
Yes, I believe this flawed man is chosen by Our Lord to rescue the free world from the jaws of Hell.
