A Christian computer expert claims the world will end this month when Jesus will return to destroy the planet.
Nora Roth says she has performed complex calculations and backs up her claims in a 6,000 word blog post on her Mark of the Beast website.
According to the claims from Roth, who describes herself as a Bible student, Jesus will guide his people to heaven before leaving the planet sterile for 1,000 years.
Bible
The calculations have been based on an excerpt from the Bibles Book of Daniel, which says that Seventy sevens are decreed [ ] to put an end to sin.
Ms Roth wrote: Are 6,000 years of sin almost over? Will Jesus come in 2016? The Bible presents enlightening, logical, and compelling answers to these questions. In short, yes!
The 70 sevens prophecy in Daniel 9:24 has two fulfillments. First, the 70 sevens are 70 sabbatical cycles 490 years, pointing to the first coming of Jesus as our Savior from sin.
Sin
Second, the 70 sevens are 70 Jubilee cycles 3,431 years, pointing to the second coming of Jesus when His people will be permanently freed from sin.
In the fall of 2016 the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again.
The computer scientist, who says she has worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst, said it was most important for people to give themselves entirely to God right now.
She added: Now is the time to seek God, while He may be found. Now is the time to repent. Today is the day to choose to receive Jesus Christ fully and to abide in Him.
No one knows the day nor the hour. Including Nora Roth.
I’ve kinda thought about “around” 2017 for a couple of decades because of the “This generation shall not pass away until all these things take place” verse. Thing is, the bible makes it pretty clear that a generation is 70 years, and the begining of that 70 years is 1948 - when Israel became a nation and also took possession of the dead sea scrolls.
I wouldn’t bet the farm on it, but it is interesting. It causes me to notice things like the spat of major earthquakes we had a week or two ago. I don’t make a big deal about it because for me, EVERY day could be the day. I see every day as my first and last day. Each day is a brand new lifetime that the Lord has blessed me with. Hence my tag line.
But you didn't notice "he" is a she? ;)

I did, but typo. :)
What about the tribulation, and the 1.000 years of Christ’s rule on Earth? Oh, wait- Obama WAS the tribulation...
He does come to destroy the evil system.

Not only is the planet destroyed but everything is destroyed.
I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Later in Revelation, a new heaven and new earth are created, you need to bone up it sounds like
I was always under the impression that a Jewish generation was 40 years.
Another way of taking that verse hinges around the translation of the word “generation”. One possible translation can also mean a tribe or nation. It’s not hard to read that bit as saying Israel will not be destroyed as a nation before Jesus returns.
But YMMV. I’m not saying that’s the correct reading, only mentioning it as a possibility.
No, but He did come to destroy the Temple and those who crucified Him - “Vengeance is Mine . . . “ but that was a long time ago.
But YMMV. Im not saying thats the correct reading, only mentioning it as a possibility.
I can guarantee that's when it won't happen.
Last time I skipped paying my utilities they sent me some letters I thought were rude.
I don’t beleive in the rapture, but it’s not an issue of salvation so no need to argue, you believe it, fine, you can explain it to me on the way up ...

I guess I'll give him a fruitcake instead, that should last for the next 1000 years till man returns.......
“....when Israel became a nation and took possession of the Dead Sea Scrolls...”-—I have been thinking a lot about Israel today (it’s a lot easier and there’s a lot more breathing room during those blessed periods when Israel is not dominating the news)..and was intrigued by the phrase about the Dead Sea Scrolls...could you elucidate? Will check back, Mr. Douglas..thanks
no man knows
It doesn't say anything about a woman figuring it out
I take the book of Daniel very seriously but do my own analysis. That said, I find the views of others interesting, as long as there is some objectivity involved.
If Jesus is God then God is destroying the planet. Why would Jesus need to “return” to do it?
These freaks are why people turn away from organized religion.
