There have been many different first Thanksgivings in America. The descendants of the Pilgrims were the first to want to remember and honor it by celebrating it yearly. I haven’t heard that any of the other groups, with rightful claims to a first Thanksgiving, had descendants who did so.
Lots of people are genuinely thankful to God.
I went there as a little kid. I seem to remember an ancient church that had horseshoe imprints in the floor?????
And with the increasing wetback population here, it'll be the place of the last one too.

Ponce de Leon founded Florida in 1513 and St. Augustine was settled in 1565, St. Augustine was founded on September 8, 1565, by Spanish admiral Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, Floridas first governor. He named the settlement San Agustín, as his ships bearing settlers, troops, and supplies from Spain had first sighted land in Florida eleven days earlier on August 28, the feast day of St. Augustine.
