This is my solution for the Christian Baker dilemma nationwide....Make a cake for everyone....but make your product policy to include a Chrisitan fish symbol somewhere...on top, in the filling or wherever......send Christ's message into all events.
Re-Name and Re-Frame the way you market your cakes....Call your cakes "Special Event Cakes", rather than calling them wedding cakes
Pray for everyone.....Call it a 'Fish Cake'...great way to have Christ be present.
My friend who owns a hotel has the same dilemma....when he rents a room, he has no idea if the guest couple is an extra-marital affair, unmarried people, etc etc.....so sin is sin.....pray for everyone and let the Lord be the judge
Read the actual verse then get back to me. It’s in the context of ecclesiastical affairs.
Its about bullying and hatred for Christians. These things are setups. There are plenty of bakeries who would have no issue but they insisted like whiny crybabies on going to the one they knew took a stand. I really hate gays (and I grew up in the gay culture with a gay father).
I like that idea, price them out of the market
My mother had a sign in our jewelry store - “price according to customer’s attitude”. It was only half a joke.
I did reaqd the actual verse, its not out of context. They are bringing a different gospel so we are not to wish them godspeed (bless them) and read Romans 1 -we are not to approve of the sin or we are just as guilty.
Your ‘solution’ is not biblical.
How about following the actual scriptures, not twists on them that aren’t applicable?
Until you can love “gays” — in the right way of course — you won’t really be an agent to bring the kind of healing that God desires them to see.
The difficult thing, but the necessary one (and it is made possible through the work of the Cross) is to show that you care enough about the person to wish them personal blessing in their life even while you admonish them to stop the sin. Nothing less will do. This is not a self contradictory message — this is the work of the Cross.
“Gay” is itself hate-driven. Only love, wisely shared, can displace hate. More hate will speed them on the way to hell, which is not God’s first wish.
That is, in their particular endeavor or agenda. But not every blessing would apply here.
Your ‘answer’ is not biblical.
Anyone who has not watched episodes of Portlandia (TV series) is in for a treat.
Christian bakers in Oregon MIGHT close their shops and re-open somewhere north, south or east of their rainy state.
N0 argument with you.
It's my experience that homosexuals are FAR from God.
I think that they are filled with self-loathing.
THEY need God as much as anyone else and are, possibly, the last who will look for Him.
They are to be greatly pitied.
Now, I don't want to bake your cake but if the government forces me to I just want to fully disclose the risks."
That's the point of absurd pricing, They'll go elsewhere without you actually saying what everyone knows you are thinking.
But when it comes into a court (and you gotta know they will) the court is not stupid about it either.
Hate-a-holic would be a way of describing the spiritual and emotional situation of many of them.
When this is combined with the common, low-spirituality Christian way of considering them so perfectly framed by sin that any kindness that they might be shown is itself liable to these Christians’ participation in sin, it’s amazing that any are approached at all with anything but more hate. They hear contentless, unillustrated calls from high horses to “repent.” Jesus isn’t even shown as a name to them — Jesus is an arbitrary string of phonemes.
God has to be disgusted with this state of affairs.
Our heavenly father has OFTEN been "disgusted" with the state of affairs of His creations. He DID give us free will.
He also gave us a conscience to choose. He sent His only begotten son to us and Jesus was here on earth three years.
Even our measurement of time, Anno Domini, is named for God.
My trust is wholly with our Lord.
