Swiss Christian Nursing Home Must Allow Assisted Suicide

A Christian nursing home in Switzerland must allow assisted suicide or lose its charitable status

A Swiss court has ruled that a Christian nursing home must either permit assisted suicide on its premises or give up its charitable status.

The nursing home, which is run by the Salvation Army, the UK-based Christian charity, lost a legal challenge to new assisted suicide rules.

The regulations, introduced about a year ago, compel charities caring for the sick and elderly to offer assisted suicide when a patient or resident requests it.

The nursing home objected on the grounds that the law violated the core religious beliefs of the Salvation Army and that it represented an affront to freedom of conscience.

But the Federal Court rejected the complaint of the home, which is situated in the canton of Neuchatel, and ruled that individuals have the right to decide how and when they would like to end their lives.

According to a report on Swiss Radio In English, the judges said the only way the home could avoid its legal obligations to permit assisted suicide was to surrender its charitable status.

Close down. The abuse won’t end until a stand is taken. Let the Swiss absorb the cost of care, they are a rich country. Go somewhere you are needed and appreciated.

Does 'assisted suicide' also cover jihadi beheadings of elderly Christians by Muzzie migrants in that ruling?

And to think I live in a state where Euthanasia was legalized by a self-proclaimed Catholic governor - and likely headed in the same direction unless we act NOW by electing NEW LEADERSHIP for starters.

Legislators and judges who force this stuff on us should be assisted in their OWN suicide. There is a label for the act of people who are too cowardly to kill themselves and choose to get themselves killed by a cop: “suicide by cop”. We need to start a new one for tyrants like these: “suicide by revolutionary”. Just keep this stuff up, and freedom lovers will be helping these tyrants to get where they are heading quicker than they really want. We need to get past the days of citizens fearing their government, and get back to the days when governments were afraid of their citizens.

The smartest thing for the Sallies to do is to notify every person responsible for a patient in the nursing home that “by order of the Swiss government”, they must find new accommodations for their loved one in a short period of time.

And they should provide the phone numbers of those parliamentarians and judges who demand it. And strongly suggest they ask their family and friends to call those people and object to their cruelty and godlessness.

“We are a nursing home, not a charnel house or abattoir. We will not kill even if the government demands we do.”

Maybe this is easy to say from my “armchair”, but, Christian organizations need to quit worrying less about their government status and more about The Word of God.

A Church loses a tax exemption for teaching the Word, a Nursing home loses charitable status....because they worry too much about status and not enough about the blessings of God that will see them through for doing the right thing.

It is not the Godless government here, it is about the lack of faith of these organizations that prefer the government tit to the faith that will pull them thru when that precious “status” is lost.

Sadly, that “precious status” is indeed precious, because such facilities are very expensive to operate, and would have to close if they refuse to obey, anyway.

But more so, many European states insist on conformity so much that refusal to euthanize might strip a facility of any right to operate at all, no matter who pays for it. They want their legal murder so much that they do not tolerate those who do not want to murder.

So what I proposed, to create a very loud and angry protest at that part of the government that is trying to force them to murder, may be the best chance for them to follow their faith and to continue their good works.

There is a big difference between a wise sacrifice and a foolish martyrdom. A wise sacrifice is a carefully planned scheme to lose a small battle, but win a war. A foolish martyrdom is to singly charge the enemy, with expectation that you will be cut down, and accomplish nothing except your egotistical loss. It is more an expression of vanity than it is of righteousness.
