Object Oriented Programming (OOP) gives a good analogy for how creation works. First God created the abstract types (kinds in the English translations) and then He instantiated them. So He creates Man in His own image and then He forms a man out of the earth.

As every programmer knows, when you create the types, they are always “very good”! It is only when they are instantiated that the trouble begins. ;-)

But imagine how much higher, even unapproachable, of an evolution of abstract thinking and awareness, the faculty of possessing a soul life, נפשׁ (nephesh, Hebrew), the ψυχή (psuchē, Greek), from which we get psychology.

In comparison to these, by no means can there ever obtain by evolution an entrance unto union with the Eternal God, who is Spirit, and only they that are alive in the spirit may by grace attain, the life in the Spirit, the רוּח (rûach, Hebrew) or πνεῦμα (pneuma, Gree), of which is the theological study of pneumatology.

Cells don’t have mouths. They did not eat. My guess is they absorbed energy from sunlight or undersea venting volcanoes that were rich in minerals and elements.
