1 Thessalonians 4:15-18King James Version (KJV)

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

>>>> 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Who the resurrection is really for.
I heard a different opinion concerning the resurrection growing up, of and for all those loved ones that have passed away...
It wasn’t a me me me religion scared to death of the future thing. It was only about our loved one that had died or were killed in battle. This is our hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

>>>>( Not all in the grave will hear Jesus’s call at his second coming, at the seventh trump, when Jesus begins his earthly reign...

Those (that have died and in the grave so to speak) that are not his in the grave, will be changed to, but not alive now. They will not hear his call but will be changed, For all (in the grave) shall be changed......, Those people will however appears at the the white throne judgement after Christ reigns a 1000 years.)

The second coming is about the resurrection of those that have passed away in Jesus. Those that are his (Jesus) at his coming are changed in the grave and alive. (Then we which are alive now again, (from the graves resurrection) and remain (from the graves separation during the resurrection) raise to meet the Lord in the air at his coming.

World without end, Gods world restored, Jesus is King. And the leader of the nations shall got to Jerusalem each year after the resurrection happens...ect...

I used to believe in a rapture until I realized there is no scriptural basis for it.

This priest explains it very well. Left Behind and the like never held my attention, but regardless, it is fiction, it is not the Bible.

With a few substitutions, one could make very similar arguments regarding the Trinity.

The term never appears in scripture.
The doctrine was not adopted until the fourth century.

It has been presumed to be a universally accepted tenet, yet many are not in accord with it.

Rev 22:18 For I testify together to everyone who hears the Words of the prophecy of this Book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add on him the plagues that have been written in this Book.
Rev 22:19 And if anyone takes away from the Words of the Book of this prophecy, God will take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which have been written in this Book.

Would not the above address this? “The Rapture” definitely has some adding and subtracting. It is in the realm of gnosticism(secret knowledge) and that has been a problem from the beginning.

To call the rapture hogwash would be disrespectful to honest hogs. Those who believe in it are

FOOLS!

Modern Christianity is pretty much all heresy.

1. Baptizing babies
2. Rapture
3. Instant salvation
4. Religious schools ordaining priests and preachers
5. Paid preachers
6. Gay preachers
7. Ordaining women
8. Pedophile priests
etc...

Jesus and the original Apostles spoke of two completely different types of “believers” in the last days. And they gave some signs to look for...There would be the real believers and those that are basically fooling themselves.

Jesus spoke in plain words when teaching about this state that people would be in during this time period. And He said that the real believers would be few in number. Jesus said that the fake believers will have deceived themselves so completely that they won’t truly understand it until that moment that they are cast out of His presence at the judgement.

Paul gave a couple signs of these fake churches. Paul said some “abstain from meat” and others would “forbid to marry”. And called these the doctrines of the devil. These weren’t just bad doctrines these are signs of false churches. Which among all the “Christian” churches forbids their leadership to marry? Which one doesn’t eat meat?

Another sign is people claiming you can receive salvation without adhering to the eternal laws of God concerning salvation. Instead they rationalize it away as if that gives them a pass at the judgment. But it doesn’t.

Every rationalization always comes back to the same thing, they don’t have to do anything. Jesus Himself said every person that actually enters the kingdom of God will have to be as a little child here on earth. Humble, meek, forgiving, full of truth, repentant... there’s no getting around that for any human being. But the fake believers say all you have to do is believe. Even though Jesus said otherwise... it doesn’t matter to them.

John says there are true Moses like prophets in the last days. Does it matter to the fake believers that they don’t actually know any? Nope. Does it matter that God hasn’t spoken to any of their leaders in 2000 years? Nope. Nothing will change their minds until Christ Himself closes the door on them at the judgement. Jesus said their reaction to being finally made aware of the truth will be “weeping” and “gnashing of teeth”.

And it’s all unfolding the way Jesus and the prophets said it would.

Intra-chrstian theological scuffles are none of my business. But I will observe that many opponents of the “rapture” object to it because rapture theology tends to be philo-Semitic and pro-Israel. Since the “church” will be removed, Israel (in this theory) resume their ancient place as the Chosen People. Certainly supersessionist classical chrstians don’t like that.

It’s not *indisputable*.

Just because the Catholic church doesn’t believe it, doesn’t mean Scripture doesn’t teach it.

There are lots of things the Catholic church teaches that are not found in Scripture and lots of things found in Scripture that the Catholic church teaches against, so their position on this is no surprise.

Darby taught as dogma that when the Scriptures reveal that the Lord will reign on earth for a thousand years (Rev. 20:4), this figure is to be taken literally, rather than as a symbol for eternity as we believe. The Council of Ephesus in A.D. 431 condemned as heresy this teaching which is called chialiasmos (millenianism or 1000 years).

So the millennium or one thousand year reign on earth is just symbolic of eternity???

Apparently your Ephesus council were stupid or just lying...

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

So after eternity is over with, Satan shall be loosed from prison to go about the earth to deceive the nations...Ya right!!!

You guys must never read the scriptures...That's the only way you could be susceptible to this deception...They pull the wool over your eyes and you don't even know it...

There is not one single word in the Bible supporting a pre-trib rapture.

Paul wrote a very pointed letter to the Thessalonians to refute their foolish belief in a pre-trib rapture.

The Rapture – Indisputable Christian Heresy

It sure is!!

Matthew 24:40-41 (NIV)
40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV)
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air

Not a BIT Scriptural!!

It is astonishing that a belief so contrary to Scripture and the tradition of the Church could be propagated by so-called “Christians”.

It is astonishing that the belief in the catching up (rapture) of the believers in Christ is thought by some so-called Christians to be "contrary" to Scripture!

Regarding the non-heretical most certainly indisputable Rapture of the Saints,
the encouraging last verse from the old hymn

"Sweet Hour of Prayer"
by William Walford:

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight:
This robe of flesh I’ll drop and rise
To seize the everlasting prize;
And shout, while passing through the air,
"Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!"

(The first three stanzas and accompanying story may be found here (click)

If you're around to view the seen shown with the article by Coniaris, you will be on the wrong end of the Rapture.
