For many, there is a deep-seated political hatred, racism, and bigotry hidden behind the guise of Christianity. And Im tired of keeping quiet. As a person born into it, baptized into itI went every Sunday morning and every Sunday night, and if my mother finished worked early enough, I even went on Wednesday eveningsI should know.
Im not typically one to get into social media arguments or spend hours discussing political and religious discourse on a Facebook strand, but recently, one woman drove me to the point of no return. Of course, it began with: Trump vs No Trump. As per any Trump supporter, her main argument was that she was a hard working American and she shouldnt have to pay such high taxes for no-good illegal immigrants and poor people and their lobster-buying-food-stamps and that was that. Her argument always stopped there. Always: Im a hard working American.

One of the first actions of almost every resent totalitarian government has been to arrest, imprison and execute faithful Christians.
They are trying to achieve that goal in the United States.
The purge has been underway for a couple of years. Socialism tolerates no God other than government and has no higher being than man. Secularism demands there be no condemnation or moral code.....
Not even worth replying to save for a question: do da name Islam mean anything to ya?
Christianity, like our founders, like America, like Western Culture, like whites have been under attack for decades and individuals like this woman are only too happy to help try and destroy it all.
Pathetic snowflake writes about terrible Christians—if you could call that writing. May she meet a good Muslim man in the Ladies Room.
And these people are hypocrites....
The ugly she perceives in Christianity, pales in comparison to the ugly in Islam.
They want to eliminate Christians and Christianity. To help that along, they are bringing in millions of mooselimbs who will breed with their 4 wives and rapidly displace all the Christians.
Scandalized by less than perfect Christians? I guess in her Bible study she glossed over 2 Corinthians 4:7.
A reminder to liberals the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. did not ask people to turn away from Christianity because of racial intolerance and violence he told them to turn to Christianity in order to stop racial intolerance and violence and it worked.
Shouldn’t there be an “are” after “Agree with me or else you”?
Dave
Those Christians sound like real evil ba$tards.. huh?
I mean look at all the people Christians are beheading and setting on fire and raping and stuff...
Oh wait- isn’t that another religion? (of ‘peace’)
‘As a person born into it, baptized into itI went every Sunday morning and every Sunday night, and if my mother finished worked early enough, I even went on Wednesday eveningsI should know.’
Taking up space in a church building isnt what makes you christian....
Hillary Ferguson has clearly constructed an alternate reality which feeds her lusts and hatred. She first informs everyone of what a good little church-goer she was while young and naive. She then suddenly wakes up and realizes that Christianity is just a cover for all the bigots who disagree with her. She even throws out several leftist stereotypes to validate her sincerity and moral superiority.
It’s the late 1930’s all over again. The night of broken glass can’t be far behind.
Most of the critics of Christianity really have no measure of the full meaning of religion.
“Christianity has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found difficult and left untried.” - G.K. Chesterton
There are religions founded on the hard-won lessons of what is moral and just, and there have been religions which have discounted these lessons, only to become, at best, a footnote on history, and largely discarded, because of their implicit cruelty and adoption of tyrannical methods.
But because some sort of ideology may declare itself to be a “religion”, does not mean that morality and justice are somehow discarded, simply because despotism is now held to the the guiding virtue. Despotism has a way of finally exasperating those subject to its whims and error to finally rise up and give it a smack.
For a period of a thousand years or more, something that called itself “Christianity” fell into the category of support of despotic ideologies, and while it claimed control of a fairly wide expanse of the planet, it finally came to its confrontation with internal schisms and compounded error, and underwent a vast reformation. The Christianity of the 18th and 19th Centuries was entirely different from the earlier institution that existed during what we know today as the “Middle Ages” or the “Dark Ages”.
What we have today is an existential threat to that enlightenment, and a distinct possibility of sliding back into that “Dark Age”, when despotism in the name of religion would again be imposed upon the world.
The Dems control a lot of the media. Thank goodness for the media they don't control...FR, for example.
No, there should be a “be”
I’m not even going to give HuffPo a click. Just reading the headline and the beginning paragraph was enough for me.
