It's a sad, sad reality that most Christians simply don't care about the suffering of preborn babies. See it for yourself in this footage that was captured at the Church of the Brethren 2015 Conference. When will you start being a voice for your preborn neighbors? www.AbolishHumanAbortion.com www.TampaAHA.com

So who are the Church of the Brethren? FReepers?

Okay I'm at a conference center for my faith and some other (mind you other) pro lifers show up with signs passing out material do you think I'd be upset? No! I'd ask them for about two hundred of what ever they were passing out to take back to my parish.

If these people are Christian why are they upset that pro lifers are there passing out pro life material? Why do the other Christians not take it and want to help out?

The Brethren are Anabaptists and first cousins to Mennonites and Amish.

These folks do not look or dress like Brethern I know, who all dress somewhat plain and who have women with coverings.

I can’t speak for others, but I no longer support pro-life functions because of their ineffectual tactics, and “soup kitchen” mentality.

Church of the Brethren and Grace Brethren came from the Plymouth Brethren type of exiles that came here from Europe.
Not unlike the puritans.

They were full immersion, three times forward. Foot washing. Confession of sins. Holiness oriented originally. The Lord’s supper and I mean supper... as in MEAL... largely Jewish in some aspects... and separate communion with host and wine.

the host was unleavened cake, with pure extra fine flour... three holes vertically and horizontally for the wounds of Christ. Head, thorax feet, left and right hands pierced. a three tine fork was used in preparation, and you see them sometimes today at garage sales.

In the assembly the women sat on one side and the men on the other.
There was a divided chancellory with the word being preached on one side, and the other one directing the congregants and music. Always an empty crucifix. But with a normal altar. plain in the center.

that was a long time ago. I remember attending as many of my family were Grace Brethren... there was a split with the Church of the Brethren when they merged with the United Methodist Church and were then largely secularized...

Nowadays I think they are a lot like just plain baptists, with three dips instead of one.

“These folks do not look or dress like Brethern I know, who all dress somewhat plain and who have women with coverings.”

You know I was thinking that but these people looked modern and, well, were kinda rude.

Actually, Christians do care about the suffering of the preborn.

It’s those who call themselves Christians who don’t.

“I no longer support pro-life functions because of their ineffectual tactics, and “soup kitchen” mentality.”

Next time I post stats from the Guttmacher Institute stating Christian women have abortion don’t argue with those facts. They are telling the truth and videos like these are why.

So do yes, but a great many suffer from apathy. I heard one too many women in this video say she was pro choice.

Two women wanted her removed. Why did they want her removed? She would not have offended me. Like I said, would have ask her for two hundred of what ever she had. I think it was a great idea she was at a Christian function.

very likely because a grace brethren minister will get “defrocked” if they allow that stuff. Types of brethren are segmented kind of like the Lutherans: this is a cut and paste:
—The ELCA—

Prior to 1988, the ELCA did not exist. The ELCA is now the largest Lutheran body in the USA with about 5 million members. The ELCA is a product of the merger of the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) and the American Lutheran Church (ALC) and the Association of American Lutheran Churches which broke off from the Missouri Synod.

The ELCA ordains women and believes scripture to be historical and not always literally. Also, there is no set opinion of if when taking Holy Communion it is actually the Body and Blood of Christ, it is up to ones opinion when taking it.
Website: http://www.elca.org

—The LCMS—

The second largest Lutheran Church body is The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and has about 2.6 million members. Originally, this church was named “The German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and Other States.”

The LCMS does not ordain women, but they do allow women to serve as officers in the church. Also, the church believes it is the true body and blood of Christ at Communion. The church also takes the Holy Scriptures as literal.
Website: http://www.lcms.org

—The WELS—

The third largest Lutheran body is the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, with about 400,000 members. The WELS is the most conservative of the three major Lutheran churches in the United States.

The WELS does not ordain women and does not allow women to office. They take the Holy Scriptures to be totally true. The WELS also does not consider members of the ELCA and of the LCMS to be ‘legitimate’ Lutherans.
Website: http://www.wels.net

the grace brethren are more like the WELS and LCMS... women not in ministry and real presence of Jesus Christ within the host. LCMS uses real wine. Common cup.

Most really don’t give a flip; you are right. They are too preoccupied with their own mundane wants.

I have watched a couple of these abolition videos, but after seeing this one today, I went
to their site. I realize that, after leading Right to Life in my location for 18 years, I had
come to the same conclusion as these folks. Just last night I emailed an elder prolifer my
view that I was no longer interested in general statements in church bulletins as a form of
"action" as it falls upon the apathetic, the "lukewarm."

Pro-life is the expression of a moral opinion.
Abolition is the expression of a moral action.

How this resonates with me now! An opinion in the face of ongoing slaughter is utterly
insufficient. Until Christians surround every abort mill with prayer & counsel & fortitude
in the face of opposition (from authorities, from the community, from friends & family),
they are not really Christians.

Almost right. The LCMS uses common cup on occasion, but we also use the small individual glasses on occasion. Some congregations use both and give the individual communicant their choice.

Just because they refuse a pamphlet they don’t care? Maybe they don’t care, but I don’t see that as proof of anything. Perhaps you would take it, but depending on the situation and the attitude of the one offering it, I might not accept a piece of paper shoved at me.

I’m involved with sidewalk counseling and I can tell you there are some truly unhinged pro-lifers who do more harm than good. They show up and spew hate while others attempt to pray with and show compassion for women. They are the equivalent of the Westboro crowd. And I won’t get into the details, but around here they are associated with a particular church.

After watching and being involved with the life movement for decades I have learned there are some ardent pro-lifers who are very lost. Maybe they wrongly believe their activism scores points with God, but they don’t know Him or the gospel at all.

I’ve never met a single person who was truly a regenerate born again Christian who didn’t care about the life issue. But the problem in this country is there are many millions who believe they are Christians when they are lost. To expect a lost man to think or act like a person who has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit is utter folly. The issue in the church is false conversion, not complacency about life.

In an average town that has one abortion clinic there is at least 200 churches in a 50 mile radius. How can this be? These churches can’t work together for the greater good and picket that abortion mill out of existence?

Our churches have failed so badly for this to have happened.
