Yet Marys condition and office as the Mother of the Son of God A phrase NOT found in the bible is:
Mary; mother of GOD.

Yet Marys condition and office as the Mother of the Son of God set her apart so that she and Joseph would not and did not enjoy the natural good of conjugal relations.
What?
That angel sure as **** didn't tell me THIS!!!

In the bible, sometimes until means until, sometimes until means until and after. And sometimes the word isn't even in the verse...And yet you still try to use it...The word is 'unto', not until...

Believing that 'Mary and Joseph must have had sex' - with no evidence! - simply reveals a colossal lack of understanding of what the Incarnation is. Believing that 'Mary and Joseph must NOT have had sex' - with no evidence! - simply reveals a colossal lack of understanding of what GOD intended for His creation!!
Joseph was a normal man (AFAIK); so WHY would Mary have placed HIM in such a TEMPTING situation for at LEAST 12 years??
1 Corinthians 7:5
Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

A second-century document ...Heck; the 'document' that Rome assembled; so long ago; shows just how BAD Catholic teaching was in Revelation Chapters 1-3!
Things got better in the SECOND century?

This would have been a very odd thing to do if Mary had other children. Oh?
Joseph (OT) had some relatives that were not too trustworthy.

If memory serves, in Aramaic there is not a specific word which would be translated as sister or brother. Because the Koine Greek word used was from adelphos, the context is required to fully understand what is meant since the word is used for cousin, closest friend or brother. When the Bible has a passage stating that The Mother of Jesus and his brothers and sisters stood outside calling for Him to come out to them, we may be assured the term adelphos was used to signify direct relationship as to His Mother these with her were of her womb.

Matt. 27:56 shows that James was the literal brother of Joseph, by a different Mary. Matthew 27:56 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
Among whom was Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
So; you are contending that only ONE person in the bible was named JAMES??

Like Mary, are you awake? Afternoon naptime...
Us old dogs just awaken from sunning ourselves on the porch to bark at the occasional car going by.

Also, how is her perpetual virginity relevant to a believers salvation?Well...
1 ELSIE 17:1-10
1 Now the Catholics gathered their armies together to battle, and were gathered at FreeRepublic, which belongs to Jim; they encamped EVERYWHERE, in Rome and all her outposts. 2 And them Prots and the men of Wittenberg were gathered together, and they encamped in the pages of FR, and drew up in battle array against the Catholics. 3 The Catholics stood on Rome's teachings on one side, and Prots stood on Biblical truth on the other side, with a great rift between them.
4 And a champion(?) went out from the camp of the Catholics, named (Insert your favorite here) , from The Land of Whining, whose height was probably similar to Lord Farquaad. 5 He had a Brown Scapula around his neck, and he was armed with all sorts of Sacrements, and the weight of the Sacrements was quite burdensome. 6 And he had bronze armor on his legs (to protect from Prot ankle biters) and a loop of beads between his fingers. 7 Now the beads were to remind him of many teachings, and his iron spearhead; though a bit rusty; was to prod the Prots with - if one of them ever DARED to get near - and Mother of Mercy went before him.
8 Then he stood and cried out to the armies of Luther, and said to them, Why have you come out to line up for battle? Am I not a Catholic, and you the servants of just words on paper? Choose a man (or a woman named cow) for yourselves, and let him (spit!) come down to me. 9 If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us. 10 And the Catholic said, I defy the armies of LUTHER this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.

Are you for or against personal interpretation? Can that be worse than Institutional Interpretation?
I wonder just how many folks, on a committee of some sort, have to VOTE in favor of a certain 'interpretation"?
Just more than half?
2/3's??
Or UNANIMOUS!!! like MORMONs...

So how did this idea come about? Why was it important to the early Christians that Mary remain a virgin. One possibility is that they felt it was essential because it fulfilled the following Old Testament prophecy from Ezekiel 44:2, Then said the Lord unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the Lord, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. So how many gates did Mary have??? Because those other verses talk of other gates as well...Assuming of course that your Mary is the sanctuary...
Man that is crazy...Mary isn't any where those chapters in Ezekiel...Fact is, Jesus is coming again...He's coming to Jerusalem...And he's going to enter at that sealed up East Gate...
So what's that mean to a Catholic...That the Holy Spirit will over shadow Mary again for the 2nd time???
Here's some good insight on the East Gate...

You’re being a bit dishonest in what you’re posting.
It is not my intent to be dishonest. Metmom asked a valid question and I offered a possible explanation. I quoted only what was pertinent to my explanation because it was such a lengthy quote, most of which provided no context to my explanation. I provided a link so that anyone who was interested in reading the entire quote could easily access it. Here is the link again.

I believe that if you state as indisputable fact that Mary did not remain a virgin, you have not reached the Truth. If you state it is your belief based on your honest interpretation of scripture, I have no problem with that, as long as you allow me the same courtesy.

My opinion is indeed based in Scripture, just not on your interpretation of Scripture.

“My opinion is indeed based in Scripture, just not on your interpretation of Scripture.”
It has nothing to do with interpretation.
There are no facts in Scripture that support your claims on this thread.
