The fact that Mary was saved by Jesus does not imply that Mary ever sinned.

Sure it does because only sinners need to be saved.

Every single one of them had human failings, some more than others, but not one of them ever taught heresy, not a single one.

But God DID die on the cross! That’s precisely why it MATTERS that Jesus died on the cross!

Now you went and told her. I was hoping she would take a shot at it. Just promise me you won't give them any hints when I ask them to explain the Trinity, Okay?

The Holy Spirit is clear in Scripture in calling Mary *the mother of Jesus*.

John 2:1 On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

John 2:3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine."

Acts 1:14 All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Renaming Mary puts one at odds with the Holy Spirit. HE is the one who chose to assign the title of *mother of Jesus* to Mary. No doubt if He had thought that the term *Mother of God* was more accurate or reflected more accurately who Jesus was, He'd have used it.

But since the term *mother of God* does not address Jesus at all, it then makes the whole thing about Mary and leaves Jesus out of the equation.

Since God is used for the Godhead and the Father, then using that term *mother of God* does not imply in any way, that it's Jesus who is being referred to as it could as well mean the Father or the entire Godhead.

All the term *mother of God* does is muddy the waters.

The term *mother of Jesus* leaves no doubt about which member of the Godhead is being referred to.

You are forgetting one thing: The Christians who have called Mary “the Mother of God” have not been morons.

Only a moron who knew absolutely nothing about Christianity could imagine that the title “Mother of God” meant anything other than what it has always meant: Mary is the mother of Jesus, who is God.

No Father of the Church, no bishop, no council, no Pope, has been the kind of low-grade moron that one would have to be in order to think that Mary could be the Mother of God the Father, or the Mother of the Trinity.

Catholics haven't been distracted for 2,016 years, we're doing just fine, hank you.

Besides the FACT that the church of Rome stands in such contrast to the NT church that it is basically invisible in the NT, you have it existing even before Christ is understood by most researchers (even by RC estimates) to have been born.

That’s what the Bible says which is different than what you born again groupies actually believe. Again, why should I presume your misinterpretation is valid?

"Luuuuucy!!! You got some 'splainin' to do...."

Please, do tell what we "born again groupies actually believe" -- I believe exactly what the Scripture says. What do YOU believe?

Mary has NEVER been called the Mother of the Trinity. The title “Mother of God” has never meant that Mary is the Mother of the Trinity.

So... what's the difference? Are there two Gods in which Catholics believe? One that is The Trinity and one that is not?

Sounds like CCC 841 coming into play?

So...God is NOT eternal. He can die. Nice.

As Catholics love to point to, who then preached to those "in prison" if God died?

And why would you think that I think that?

Where did I say or ever imply that?

If a person were to be conceived without Original Sin, that person would have been saved from Original Sin. And thus, it would be true to say that she had a Savior.

But, since she was saved from Original Sin by her Savior, she would never have committed a personal sin, and so would not be a “sinner.”

Thus, she would be a sinless person who was saved, by her Savior.

Thus, Mary’s reference to “God my savior” does not imply that she was a sinner.

The Gutenberg Bible (also known as the 42-line Bible, the Mazarin Bible or the B42) was the first major book printed in the West using movable typ

But which does not mean Rome allowed the people free access to it, or placed much emphasis on literacy so that they could, in contrast to the Puritans.

Instead Rome came to much hinder free access to personal Bible reading. Which even the preface to the DRB testifies to;

The Douay–Rheims Bible...is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English undertaken by members of the English College, Douai in the service of the Catholic Church.

Which translation we do not for all that publish, upon erroneous opinion of necessity, that the Holy Scriptures should always be in our mother tongue, or that they ought, or were ordained by God, to be read impartially by all, or could be easily understood by every one that readeth or heareth them in a known language; ..

yet they were extant in English even before the troubles that Wycliffe and his followers raised in our Church,.. Which causeth the Holy Church not to forbid utterly any Catholic translation, though she allow not the publishing or reading of any absolutely and without exception or limitation, - . Your argument is with the Holy Spirit who inspired the writers of Scripture to use the term *mother of Jesus* to identify Mary.

How ironic that Catholics, who claim the Catholic church wrote the Bible, criticize someone for wanting to adhere to the integrity of the Scripture that they claim their church wrote.

Because you strenuously argue against beliefs that only a moron WOULD believe: that Mary is the mother of God the Father; that Mary is the mother of the Trinity.

No one who has used the title “Mother of God” has ever believed or taught those idiotic ideas.

Your strenuously arguing against those idiotic errors implies that you think there are many people stupid enough to fall into them.

The Catholic God died on the cross.

That’s not the God of Scripture.

The body of the second person of the Trinity died on the cross, thus Jesus tasted death and by experiencing it, is able to set us free from its power.

That hardly means that GOD died.

I guess the Catholic God is not immortal or eternal.

Is that in the CCC that God can die and that He died on the cross?

Or did some pope declare that ex cathedra?

Or is that a universally held belief by all Catholics in the unity of doctrine that we keep hearing about the FRoman Catholics or is that a belief that they are allowed to accept or not as they choose, just like Fatima?

Then you contradict the gospels, which tell us that Jesus, who is God, had a mother.

So then, Mary is actually the Deity involved here, right? Because if God has a mother, he is a CREATED being.

Which, oddly, would make sense in terms of Catholicism since Mary is "venerated" (worshipped), given the same abilities and characteristics of God...

The God of the Bible, the One, True, Living, Triune God is eternal, not created.
