More than 25 prominent rabbis from Israel and abroad recently issued a statement calling for a renewed look at Jesus, Christians and the New Testament faith. Quoting from their own sages, these outstanding Orthodox rabbis are not ashamed to exalt the name of Jesus, welcoming the carpenter from Nazareth back into the Jewish fold.

“.....welcoming the carpenter from Nazareth back into the Jewish fold.” He never left the fold, most of them left him. Regardless, the world is in a heap of trouble, with both Christians and Jews on the receiving end by leftists, communists, muslims and just about anyone else who hates the Judeo-Christian West. Put on your seat belts, the ride is going to get rougher for us and our Jewish brethren. Shalom.
He once said, "Jesus is the greatest success story in Jewish history." I found that intriguing.
When the news of this was first posted in Free Republic two weeks ago (Link) it was fascinating to see the range of responses from both FReeper Christians and FReeper Jews (two groups that don't usually talk religion on FR forums).
I personally think this is delightful news, and that it is vitally important, right now, for Christians and Jews to let the love of God break down the wall that divides us. Our solidarity with each other is going to be -- I think --- the key to our spiritual and physical survival.
Ugh.
We all need to remember that God decides who he likes and who gets into heaven and all the important things.
God does not need us telling him how to run his realm.
If Jews have the "love of God" then they have Jesus in their heart because Jesus is the love of God. Any "breaking down of walls" between Christians and non-Christian Jews will only come about when Jews receive Yeshua as their Messiah.
Any other so-called "breaking down of walls" will be akin to a middle-east peace brokered by the UN. I.e., in the long run it will be meaningless.
Only Jesus can change a heart! No Jesus - no peace, no love!
I think the other way around will happen too, as Christians begin to recognize that Torah is more important than they ever knew.
There is a reason why Judah has been preserved - They have dutifully preserved Torah in spite of themselves, even as Christians have preserved Messiah in spite of themselves. Bind the two sticks.
Roamer, when both realize that they have inherited lies that blind them both in ways to the Word Made Flesh, the enemy has no chance to peddle the lies anymore- and babylon falls..
But the enemy is subtle.
Wow!
It's coming... It is written, I think.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1
Christians know God's living Word. Jesus, Yeshua in Aramaic/Hebrew, is God's Word. "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." -John 1:17
No Jesus - no Truth!
Psa_119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
Dan_9:13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
(e-Sword:KJV)
Torah is truth too - without Torah there is no knowledge of sin. Without knowing your sin, how can you repent? How can you walk in the footsteps of Yeshua without Torah?
I do believe a person who searches for Love will find Jesus. “Seek, and ye shall find.”
I know :)
That said, I love you tagline and guess what—based on what has been written, you’re not far off at all on that tagline.
God Bless You and Israel always!
The Apostle Paul (Tribe of Benjamin and he took a Nazerene Oath during his life) agrees with you.
Romans 7 details exactly what you just said!
Christians and Jews share the same ire from leftists who want us both dead.
There are severely tough times ahead for both groups.
Thanks for that story—and he’s right!
Think about Europe and the Roman Empire prior to Christ. We were a bunch of blood thirsty barbarians prior to Christianity.
Gentiles the world over are saved by Jesus through Jews.
Yes!
Your link doesn’t work Mrs. Don-O.
Jesus is the stumbling block that the world suffers from (1 Corinthians 1:23).
It all comes down to who we say He is.
Israel’s Destiny
(And I long for that day)
