"He will be out of the parish and will spend some time to reflect on this past event," the diocese of a Philippine church said.
A priest in the Philippines is in trouble after a video showing him singing a Christmas song while riding a hoverboard during Mass has gone viral.
A video of the incident posted on Facebook on Dec. 26 had more than 14 million views as of Tuesday.
Several parishioners are seen cheering and clapping in the video as the priest rolls around the nave like a pro.
But the Diocese of San Pablo, Laguna, condemned the priest's actions on Tuesday, saying, "That was wrong," according to a report by Rappler, a Philippines-based news website.
According to a statement from the diocese, the priest, who has not been identified, sang a Christmas song while riding the hoverboard around the church as a way of greeting his parishioners during the Christmas Eve Mass.
"[The Mass] is the Church's highest form of worship," the diocese said. "Consequently, it is not a personal celebration where one can capriciously introduce something to get the attention of the people."
The diocese indicated that the priest was suspended, saying, "He will be out of the parish and will spend some time to reflect on this past event."
"The priest said that it was a wake up call for him; he acknowledged that his action was not right and promised that it will not happen again," the statement said.
Do you think the priest went (h)overboard?
Here's the video: Priest on a Hoverboard
That’s why this priest was suspended — he got out ahead of the “I’m-too-humble-for-my-shirt” pontiff.
With priests blessing homosexual unions, ordaining female priests, and blessing Planned Parenthood operations, when did they find time to notice this?
Can't have that. Makes everyone else look bad.

Transporting Jesuits, be warned...
Somebody should really look up the meaning of the word “hover”.
Not sure what the big deal is....
Now if he would have acted like a gay insurgent into the Catholic church and raped an alter boy - well promotion would follow..
Dumb Catholics... (says a dumb Lutheran)...
A great presentation, and a good voice. The good man should shake the dirt off his shoes, and find another church. He should get out because the diocese will eat him alive, and spit him out.
The diocese is only upset because they didn’t think of a way to monetize it first...
I can’t stand it that the media is now calling these things hoverboards. I know it’s just buzzfeed, but it irritates me so much. Hyperwalk, gyroboard, bi-roller, anything else is suitable. Something with wheels isn’t a hoverboard! My car out in the driveway is not a hovercar. A bicycle is not a hovercycle... etc
I know, it annoys me to no end. Which is a bit much, but I view as a symptom of the dumbing down of America in general.
I’ll take a “Hoverboard service over those God awful hippie inspired Guitar Masses they forced on us in the late 60’s and 70’s. I could have stayed home and watched “hootenanny” and the Mass for Shut-ins.
That right there is the problem.
I predict one day in the future it might become common (i.e. situation, environment, handicap).

I think the Hoverboard Synod isn’t scheduled until 2018.
He made the Mass about him instead of about Christ. The Bishop did the right thing.
I'll confess to having not viewed the video uh, evidence -- but do you think the hoverboard riding, singing Christmas songs priest was not, uh, pointing to Christ as he was uhm, er, "hovering"?
Think about it.
Watch the video — it’s all about him.
Those [hints, as it were] still hover around and [ahem] point to a particular [ahem] subject matter, regardless of what is in the video which I did eventually view, some time before your here reply, fwiw.
I could perhaps draw a map the better to find (and figure out) uhm, other hovering entities which some like to say are key (keys which always point in a particular *direction*) to un-buried treasures (if what the hovering entities are talking about ---which is usually themselves most of all--- and are alleged to always point towards, are not but imitation of the real thing; piles of pyrite, as it were) said to be in the sky, and THEN add map legend indicators which would better allow (make it easier) to collate (and locate) just where my initial comment to you was coming +from+ in regards to where your comment was (stood) in relation to things, uh, on the map --- but never mind, dear...
