The bearded man in the blue turban was attacked before dawn on Saturday morning, while waiting for a ride to work.
Two white males in their 20s pulled up and began to curse at Amrik Singh Bal, according to police in Fresno, Calif.
Fearing for his safety, police said, the 68-year-old Sikh man attempted to cross the street -- but "the subjects in the vehicle backed up and struck the victim with their rear bumper." The car stopped, and the two men "got out and assaulted the victim, striking him in the face and upper body."
During the assault, police said, one of the suspects yelled: "Why are you here?"
Bal fell to the ground, striking his head.
He also suffered a broken collar bone in the attack -- the latest in a string of incidents targeting U.S. Sikhs, who are frequently conflated with Muslims and often wind up absorbing the backlash against Islam.
Earlier this month, just days after a married Muslim couple opened fire at a social services center in San Bernardino, Calif., a Sikh house of worship in nearby Orange County was vandalized with hateful graffiti, according to the Sikh Coalition. A truck parked outside the Gurdwara Singh Sabha was also vandalized, with graffiti that included the phrase "F___ ISIS," the coalition said. ISIS is an alternative acronym for the Islamic State militant group.
In September, Inderjit Singh Mukker, a father of two on his way to the grocery store, was savagely assaulted in a Chicago suburb after being called "bin Laden."

Simple enough matter for them to stop wearing turbans. It would be a good way to show that they are actually trying assimilate.

I have a Sikh colleague ( Software Engineering Manager ) who does not wear a Turban and is clean shaven.
He is not the eldest son of his family though and their tradition has it that the eldest son should wear a turban.

I worked with a Sikh Indian in the late ‘90s at the GM Tech Center who said that we Americans “have bad hair days” while he sometimes had “bad turban days”.
If Sikhs were suffering all of this misdirected hatred I think we’d be hearing more about hate crimes against actual muslims, as the MSM is desperate for such stories.
Unless we’re to believe the ‘bigots’ are committing mistaken identity most of the time.
BTW sometimes the WaPo has no problem immediately identifying perps by skin color, sometimes the perps skin color is a mystery.

I blame the media for ass kissing all the moose-limbs and not explaining WHY Sikhs exist in the first place be cause explaining anything in depth about the Sikhs would tarnish the whitewashing the MSM does of Islam.

My best friend in engineering college in India was a Sikh classmate. He wore the whole turban and beard treatment. When he came to Canada due to job offer from a Canadian outfit, he did the right thing. He shaved of his beard, cut his 5 foot long virgin head hair and discarded the turban. He came to Chicago to see me, and I did not recognize him!
I like the old saying, do in Rome as the Romans do!

But it is part of their philosophy.
They wear turbans differently. I think they are completely neat while various Moslems tend to be “untidy”.
I knew a Sikh in college, great guy, completely American if you only heard him talk.

There is a simple solution. Ban islam (and muslims) in the USA. By their own teachings, they are all at war with unbelievers (in islam). Though by their own measure, many muslims are apostates.
My thoughts exactly. If you want to wear a big silly tight wound turban like that, move to India. They love those over there. If you want to live in USA, dump the big head turban that makes you look like an idiot. That being said, Sikhs are pretty good guys. They do fight each other though among the different sects.
