Wheaton College, a prominent evangelical school in Illinois, has placed a professor on administrative leave after she posted on Facebook that Muslims and Christians “worship the same God.”

The official school statement Tuesday about associate professor of political science Larycia Hawkins’s suspension said Wheaton professors should “engage in and speak about public issues in ways that faithfully represent the College’s evangelical Statement of Faith.”

Following a protest and sit-in of about 100 people Wednesday afternoon on campus, President Philip Ryken and later Provost Stanton Jones said they would not be lifting the suspension. It wasn’t clear how long Hawkins was suspended for, but some of the student leaders who had been involved in talks with administrators said it was through the spring semester.

The school’s communications office on Wednesday declined comment to the Post.

Protesters chanted “Reinstate Doc Hawk,” “We love Wheaton!” and some evangelical women wore hijabs in solidarity.

Except for, you know, a few things.

One of them made a permanent covenant to protect and bless the Jews and gave them the Holy Land.
One of them gave His Son to die in our place.
One of them adopts those who believe in His Son as His children.
One of them makes women fellow heirs with the men.
One of them loves the world.
One of them tells His children to love their enemies.
One of them inspired almost all of a book of Scripture via the Jews.

Good! Anyone who knows anything about religion knows this. Christians worship a triune God, and Muslims deny Christ and the Holy Spirit are God. And their god is the devil.

This wicked woman is a false prophet, leading people away from Jesus who says, “ I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.” Christians worship the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Muslims claim this is idolatry because they worship one moon god, Allah.
They do not believe the central teaching of Christianity, that Jesus is the Son of God who saved sinful humanity by dying on the cross. They believe Mohammed was a greater teacher than Jesus, and those who believe otherwise should be killed. Muslims will go to hell. Christians will go to heaven. Muslims know there is no compromise between these two religions, but phony “Christians” try to sell the idea that there is.
