The Birth of Islam
the Metropolitan Museum of Art ^ | Contemporary 2015 | Metropolitan Museum of Art

Posted on 10/13/2015 9:25:30 AM PDT by DoughtyOne

Born in Mecca, in western Arabia, Muhammad (ca. 570–632), last in the line of Judeo-Christian prophets, received his first revelation in 610.

Muslims believe that the word of God was revealed to him by the archangel Gabriel in Arabic, who said, "Recite in the name of thy Lord …" (Sura 96). These revelations were subsequently collected and codified as the Qur’an (literally "recitation" in Arabic), the Muslim holy book.

As the source of Muslim faith and practice, the Qur’an describes the relationship between an almighty and all-knowing God and his creations.

The Qur’an also maintains that all individuals are responsible for their actions, for which they will be judged by God, and so it provides guidelines for proper behavior within the framework of a just and equitable society.

Editor's note:

This material describes Muhammad as a Judeo-Christian prophet.

I found that to be an interesting claim realizing that today Islam is an anti-Christian anti-Jewish organization that seeks to get people to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ.

I wanted to point out the Metropolitan Museum of Art's description of Muhammad so that others would see what's being foisted off on the public.

I don't consider this to be an accurate presentation. Thought it might be interesting to see other people's take on this.

Muhammad COULD correctly be described as a pirate, pedophile, mass murderer, oath breaker, con artist, gold digger, sex maniac and highly successful gigolo who made John F. Kerry look like an amateur, but never a Judeo-Christian prophet.

[ Muhammad as a Judeo-Christian prophet ]

No, he was a Heretic.

He first tried to sell his new take on a combination of Christianity, Judaism, and Arab paganism by peaceful means, but everyone saw him as a crazy heretic he was and ignored him so then he decided to use violent means.

Stopped reading right there. Islam has as much relationship with Judaism and Christianity as the KKK has with Black Lives Matter.

There is no Allah but Satan, and Muhammad was his murdering pedophile.

There were a great many Judeo prophets, but I’m scratching my head to think of a Christian prophet. This article from Metro/Art folks shows how extremely ignorant they are.

Obama spent Columbus Day explicating the indignities suffered by the Indians when the Europeans arrived. How about he spends next Eid telling people what Muslims do to the people they conquer?

I've noticed in the secular realm the claims of every religion with the exception of Judaism and Christianity are presented as fact. Only the claims of Judaism and Christianity are presented as "belief."

I also object to the term "Buddha" used where Prince Siddhartha would be appropriate and consistent with practice of not using the further identifier "Christ" with the personal name Jesus.

“Born in Mecca, in western Arabia, Muhammad (ca. 570–632), last in the line of Judeo-Christian prophets, received his first revelation in 610.”

Jesus said
(Matthew 24:11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Paul let us know to who scripture was given and it wasn’t to any son of Ishmael

(Romans 3:1) What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

(Romans 3:2) Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Paul warned us about getting revelation and a different gospel from an angel

(Galatians 1:8) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

John warned us that not every spirit was of God

(1 John 4:1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

- - - - -

Acts 13:1
Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.

Acts 2:16
No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

Acts 15:32
Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers.

John the Baptist

John the author of Revelation

Calling Muhammad a Judeo Christian prophet is like calling the Metropolitan Museum of Art a high class art museum. Neither would be true at all.

Written on the inside walls of the mosque that sits on the temple mount (Dome of the rock ) it states that god has no sun .

That right there tells you that when any muslim mentions they have Jesus in their book that it is a different one

Not to mention the koran says Jesus mother was Miriam the sister of Moses and Aaron .

The only way to promote Islam in the West is by distorting the truth. I saw a blurb on facebook today. It showed a gathering of KKKers in their white hoods, and a gathering of ISIS thugs. The Captions read like this: No one would think these people, the KKKers, represent Christians. And the next Caption read something like this: Why do people think these people, the ISIS thugs, represent Muslims? ...See the distortion of truth. Replace Christians with Christianity, Muslims with Islam, and reexamine the comparison. No, the KKK does not represent Christianity, but yes, ISIS does represent Islam.

The left hates everything about Western civilization, and Islam is the opposite of Western Civilization, so the left does whatever it has to do to promote it.

When we lived in the KSA my husband received a gift from one of the contractors, the ONLY suitable gift allowed [It cuts out any thought of bribery for contracts.] It was a Koran. I still have it today.

It is REALLY a knockoff of the Old Testament. Jesus is "Issa" and the New Testament is hardly noted. The forgotten Son of God and our Savior...no small thing to omit.
