It’s amazing the difference a name makes. On one day this past week, nearly a hundred endangered elephants were killed and around 3,000 abortions were performed in the United States alone, and we were unfazed—but the killing of Cecil the lion broke our hearts. He wasn’t just any random lion. He was Cecil. Mere lions (along with chickens, cows, lambs, and pigs) are killed, but Cecil was murdered. We love the lion that was named Cecil. We feel as though we knew him.
The abortion industry knows very well the difference a name can make. In a recent New Republic article, Dr. Jen Gunter informs us that despite all appearances to the contrary, the Center for Medical Progress did not catch Planned Parenthood in the act of selling baby parts. No, not at all: Apparently, the tissue specimens in question are just the “products of conception.” Tissue and products, yes, but never a baby. You see, it’s all fine as long as you use the right words.
She continues, “In utero, i.e. during pregnancy, we use the term “embryo” from fertilization to ten weeks gestation and “fetus” from ten weeks to birth. The term baby is medically incorrect as it doesn’t apply until birth. Calling the tissue “baby parts” is a calculated attempt to anthropomorphize an embryo or fetus.”
Wait, what? A calculated attempt to anthropomorphize human beings? Dr. Gunter reminds me of Wile E. Coyote right after he runs off a cliff. Just keep peddling in the air, don’t look down! Just keep saying, “fetus, fetus, fetus.” It doesn’t matter that “fetus” is Latin for “offspring.” The meaning doesn’t matter: The word itself is magic. Any word would do, as long as it sounds scientific and isn’t “baby.”

We felt we knew Cecil the lion??? Really??? People who the day before the media started giving saturation coverage to the story, knew nothing of Cecil or Zimbabwe hunting, may have felt they knew Cecil. Because the media pushed the story on us.

Six years ago more or less I attended foster parenting classes for a temporary custody issue. There is not a shortage of homes or love for unwanted pregnancies. The waiting list for adoption as I understand it is years especially for a newborn. In some cases couples wanting kids must go outside the United States to adopt while our government condones & sponsors murder. There are couples here in the USA who would pay far greater money for the privileged of saving an unwanted a baby’s life and the privileged to raise a child as their own. But some it seems get their demonic in my opinion thrills butchering up babies and running a bits and pieces business.
Which has what to do with killing a hundred elephants in one day?
Mothers who are going to abort don’t give the baby a name. If you name a pig Wilbur you can’t eat him. The insane woman who slept with a chimpanzee gave it a name.
Giving a name is a powerful action, and indicates attachment, but that doesn’t change reality. A baby is a baby and a pig with a name can still be eaten.
I recall a story in which animal control officers named a rogue bear Sugarplum as a joke. They had to kill it, but before doing so, they got dozens of calls and letters begging them not to kill poor, sweet Sugarplum. Afterwards, one of the officials was quoted as saying, “I won’t name another bear if my life depends on it.”
The media know how to manipulate the pathology of the U.S. public. They so it every day with the words they select. Planned Parenthood is a “healthcare provider.” “Trayvon” was shot by “Zimmermann.”

That’s the ‘Only’ reason this ridiculous outcry for a dumb lion escalated. Once again revealing where the hearts of people are .....they are ‘followers’ to whatever issue is put before them to rally around....unless it’s murdering the babies they choose to murder.
We should have seen it coming .. the moment Disney began making animals “human-like”.
“fetus” means “offspring”......says it all.

Thank you for the insight. Had an Army chaplain tell me the same. He and his wife could not have kids so they adopted two beautiful babies.
