....”the Church has, at the least, greased the skids of the slide into the current situation. The Church has also harbored priests who have been openly sympathetic to this abominable ruling.........It is hard to take these proclamations of concern seriously following such a lax attitude leading up to, and even encouraging, the current situation.”....

I agree.

Nor do they care to. The cafeteria Catholics don’t care; anti-Catholics want to see fireworks. And Catholics who vote their conscience take the flak. Guess it’s an “offer it up”, lol. I wouldn’t leave the Church again for anything, but it must be easy to have no affiliation. Just slip under the radar...

.....The Catholic Church has stood staunchly against (list)....”Aren’t we really on the same side?”....

No we are not....further your statement and list contradicts the evidence otherwise regarding your Priests behavior and practices, as well as the History of your Popes, and the overall church behavior throughout it’s years.

Most of your list consists of sexual issues....the catholic church was , and is now, not in any “standing” position to be instructing any on these issues, let alone falsely claiming they have “stood staunchly against” them.

If the catholic church was as powerful as so often stated....then ‘standing staunchly against’ these would have brought about “victory” over them...instead the world is all the further down the slide.

What an odd thing for a Christian to say. It sounds a lot like, "If you're really the Son of God, come down from that Cross!"

We're called to be faithful, not "victorious" or even "successful" in the world's eyes. And I think you understand from the Scriptures that the world is heading toward apostasy. That -- in the short term -- isn't going to look anything like "victory".

Well There is one thing for sure the Roman Church is not currently producing a St. Ambrose, nor a St. Bernard Of Clairvaux.

I see that you were not the person to whom I posted #6. My defense still stands.

"Thank you for validating posts 11 and 12."

Not sure it validates anything you have said...rather it simply states that the monsignor does not really get the big picture correct. Thus, his error calls into question much of the rest of his conclusions. So it is with candidates.

Scripture was an integral part of the original post.

Why did you post “afterthought?”

Allowing such politicians and public figures to promote EVERY SINGLE ONE of those items you list, and still take communion - often VERY publicly - is NOT standing “staunchly against” them. It was noise without action, bang without bullet.

Most Roman Catholics are chained to the liberal democrats. look on social media.. you see RC faces covered with the gay rainbow gif .... Elections have consequences.. The church needs to look to itself..

How do you know this?

There are many saints in the making that you might not know about.

I wish Msgr. Pope's words could be comforting, but they're not. Yes, defiance of God is going to lead to trouble. However, that trouble is going to befall all of us, not just the defiant.

God has to punish nations in this world, because He can't punish them in the next. The USA is building up an awful debt of deserved punishment, and it's going to hurt all of us. True, eventually we'll die and get out of it, but our children and grandchildren will still be around to suffer.
