Why do people have define God in human terms? For people to say,”God is mad!” or, “God will reward you.” turn God into a fictional character. God is not male or female, does not have sex organs, does not have a beard and does not wear a skirt. God does not sleep, do a dance or walk across heaven. I do not think that God is love the way humans think of love. Whatever it is, it is the limitless type of love—something humans don’t know much about.
It is pathetic that humans see God in such simple-minded ways. The worst of them is when they say God is angry at what you did and they will do God a favor and punish you for him. That type of stupidity takes quite bizarre forms, like throwing stones at someone until they are dead. If God wanted someone dead, that could be done without having humans doing it. God does not need any favors and those stones could drop in from a long journey from the heavens if wanted.
God does not need any sacrificial lambs or humans thrown into volcanoes for some kind of blessing. God made the volcano possible and could open the earth and swallow up all kinds of people with a single burp of molten lava.
We do know one thing. God is good. God is infinitely good for, all of creation reflects that infinite good. Man, on the other hand, could cheapen the magnificence of God’s creation with a cheap skirt on a cheap whore.

To me it is clear that this is the great falling away Paul told us would come. We are seeing this apostasy to a degree and kind not seen since the days of the early Church. As such you who hold fast to the teaching of the Holy Spirit in scripture are the remnant. As such we have an increased duty to sincerely devote ourselves to God. If this is the conclusion of the end times then our mission is clear - we must evangelize like never before to carry out God’s will that all elect have a chance to hear the Gospel and come to salvation before the final hour. We must ramp up our efforts to be the salt and light we are called to be and witness the Gospel not only with words but with the way we live our lives. I believe our actions often have a stronger impact on others than any words we can say and certainly our words have more power if our actions are consistent with what we say. Remember the last words you ever hear before eternity will be one of two things, either “Well done true and faithful servant” or “I never knew ye”. I beg you brothers and sisters, strive to make sure it’s the former.
