How many "What the Pope really meant to was" excuses does it take for people to admit they got the short end of the stick when it comes to this guy?

I have noticed that if I read the pope's words literally and take them at face value, I get fairly orthodox Catholic teachings and beliefs. As a consequence I ignore what I hear from the MSM on this guy.

Most of the criticisms I have read of this pope start from the position that what writer heard from the MSM first was right and that the writer needs to be convinced to switch his opinion upon hearing what was actually said. If instead they started from the position that the first draft of the story got things wrong and needs to be cleaned up, they would have a much easier time with this pope.

I'll just cite from the "best rated" response comment at
the linked story re: the question of responding to the
"What the Pope really meant to say was" du jour -

"Did he, or did he not recognize the inheritors of the
Nazi's desire to slaughter the Jews?
Is he or isn't he supporting the leftist climate agenda
that will damn billions to poverty?
If he's not being trusted, maybe the reason isn't with us (I am a Catholic as well)"
