For those who have not yet heard, Holy Trinity Church, the former home of the German Catholic Community and the Traditional Latin Mass is being redeveloped into boutique condos. We posted last June that the property was up for sale, and in November we learned it had been sold, however the identity of the developer was not yet publicly available. Oddly, the archdiocese has not announced the sale price, or what will become of the millions of dollars of proceeds. Now the plans are up for approval by the Boston Redevelopment Authority. A picture of the proposed development can be found below.

Here is what has been written about the proposed plans. In You Could Soon Live in This 19th Century South End Church we learn:
Finegold Alexander + Associates, Inc. is hoping to transform the former Holy Trinity German Catholic Church and Rectory located at 136 Shawmut Ave. in Bostons South End into an eight-story structure boasting 33 residential units. (The firm is acting on behalf of owner 136 Shawmut LLC, formed out of New Boston Ventures, according to the Boston Globe.)

I can say this much for the development.....at LEAST the old church isnt going to be a MOSQUE!

Nice architecture and great location.
I am generally an advocate of letting a developer build what they want, but that is an attrocious design concept.
by the time it;s built there may not be much LEFT of Maryland....
Yeah, once the grand jury tosses the charges against the cops like a bocce ball.
the timing is perfect...it will be mid to late summer...when the wheels of injustice have finally groaned ahead to that point!

Yeah, well he hates how Christians and Jews keep sticking around.
Like Freddie Krueger said about Jason “Why wont you die!!”
You know he just LOVES Netanyahu and secretly supported hum all the way.
And he’ll love Cruz equally :)
Oops, I wws thinking about Trinity Church.
Sad to see what is going to become of it, and my original parish in Dorchester, which will soon become "mixed-income" condos.
I’d have preferred if they’d just destroyed/demolished/imploded the old church rather than preserving the facade and throwing up the mid-rise as condos. I betcha many homosexuals will buy just for the perverse pleasure of living in a former RC Church.
How very sad.
