Featured Term selected at random:
GENUFLECTION
Bending of the knee as an act of reverence. Customary when passing before the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle, entering the pew for divine worship, and during certain ceremonies to the Cross. A double genuflection of both knees simultaneously was commonly made before the Blessed Sacrament exposed in a monstrance. The new directive since the Second Vatican Council specifies: "One knee is bent before the Blessed Sacrament, whether reserved in the tabernacle or exposed for public adoration" (Eucharistiae Sacramentum, 1973, number 84). Genuflections are also made to the Pope, to a cardinal, and to a bishop in his own diocese.

That discussion we had, about what our bodies will be like after the Final Resurrection- I’ll be able to genuflect again! I’m stuck with bowing and leaning on the seat in front of me.... Cartilage: the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away!

Isn’t that funny? The last time i tried, i nearly tipped over, and couldn’t get halfway down. Then a little sweet elderly lady comes in and gets down on both knees like she’s 20! God bless her, lol!

I never got the memo about just one knee for the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, so I still do both knees.

Really, is that what injured your knees. So sorry to hear that.
I have had knee surgery on both knees, but — thank God! — I can still genuflect. Not fast, and I need to grab something to get up, but I can still do it.
I choose not to, though, if I am wearing a skirt that is just below the knee as opposed to longer, since I am not quick with the standing up.

Arthritis. Yeah, that's the worst part- getting up! Sometimes it just doesn't happen, lol!
My garage door was acting up this winter, so I pulled the car out, went into the house, shut the garage door- and fell in the snow. I had my keys; my coat, purse and cane were in the car. The snow had been up to my knees, and there I was in jeans, a tee shirt and loafers. I rolled over but couldn't get my knees to work! I prayed to my Guardian angel, and I swear something pulled me up by the waist! My hands and feet hurt like crazy, but thank God, I made it out of the snow pile! ⛄
God bless you!

**I have had knee surgery on both knees, but thank God! I can still genuflect.**
That's terrific! Most people I know who have had the surgery can't kneel. That has to be such a relief! I'm really glad it worked out for you! ☺

I have not had knee replacement, fortunately. That procedure seems to limit a lot of motion for the knees, from what I can see.
The Lord has really smiled on me in this area, as I have had almost no knee pain ever since my procedure, which is referred to as a “lateral release”.

I have some arthritis, but, so far, so good.
Oh, you poor dear, rolling around in the snow. Good old Guardian Angel was there for you, though. I think mine has helped me out a few times.
Salvation, I am so sorry for hi-jacking your lovely thread.
