Nigerian Bishop Says Christ Showed Him How to Beat Islamic Terror Group
Church Militant ^ | 4-21-15 | Ryan Fitzgerald

Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme, head of the Diocese of Maiduguri in Nigeria's Borno State, was in a chapel praying before the Blessed Sacrament last December when, he says, something extraordinary happened: Jesus Christ appeared holding a sword, which He offered to the prelate.

According to Bishop Dashe, the moment he took the sword from Jesus' hands, it transformed into Rosary beads. He then heard Christ repeat three times, "Boko Haram is gone."

The bishop recalls, "I didn't need any prophet to give me the explanation. It was clear that with the Rosary we would be able to expel Boko Haram."

Boko Haram is the Islamic group that's been massacring Christian civilians in Nigeria and beyond for several years. It originally was tied to Al Quaeda, but now formally pledges allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Bishop Doeme says he's seen the size of his diocese cut in half since Boko Haram started ramping up its violent activity in 2009. Most fled for safer grounds.

"Despite all this," the Nigerian prelate says, "we do not give up our public witness to our faith." He affirms, "I wear my episcopal robes publicly, because on the day I agreed to be bishop I knew I was signing my death sentence."

Boko Haram has reportedly been used in the recent past as a bargaining tool by the United States. Bishop Emmanuel Badejo of Oyo, Nigeria states, "The United States actually said it would help Nigeria with Boko Haram only if we modify our laws concerning homosexuality, family planning and birth control."

This subject is near and dear to may heart. We have 2 priests from this Diocese, and to hear their families tales is heartbreaking. The on priest thought his parents were dead for the longest time and recently found out they were alive. His dad kept being a pain in the butt to the captors and finally they let him go. He was captured many times, but after the dad would get done with them, they would let him go instead of killing him. God is great! Pray, Pray, Pray

Wow!! Incredible story. Remind of the Vietnam prisoner who kept sewing an American flag even though he got beaten every time.

Meditate on the Scripture while you say the Hail Marys.

Pray a Rosary each day for our nation.

Pray the Rosary

1.  Sign of the Cross:  In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

2.  The Apostles Creed:  II BELIEVE in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

3.  The Lord's Prayer:  OUR Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

4. (3) Hail Mary:  HAIL Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen. (Three times)

5. Glory Be:  GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Fatima Prayer: Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy.

Announce each mystery, then say 1 Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, 1 Glory Be and 1 Fatima prayer.  Repeat the process with each mystery.

End with the Hail Holy Queen:

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve! To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears! Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus!

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Final step -- The Sign of the Cross

The Mysteries of the Rosary

By tradition, Catholics meditate on these Mysteries during prayers of the Rosary.
The biblical references follow each of the Mysteries below.

The Sorrowful Mysteries
(Tuesdays and Fridays)
1. The Agony in the Garden (Matthew 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-46) [Spiritual fruit - God's will be done]
2. The Scourging at the Pillar (Matthew 27:26, Mark 15:15, John 19:1) [Spiritual fruit - Mortification of the senses]
3. The Crowning with Thorns (Matthew 27:27-30, Mark 15:16-20, John 19:2) [Spiritual fruit - Reign of Christ in our heart]
4. The Carrying of the Cross (Matthew 27:31-32, Mark 15:21, Luke 23:26-32, John 19:17) [Spiritual fruit - Patient bearing of trials]
5. The Crucifixion (Matthew 27:33-56, Mark 15:22-39, Luke 23:33-49, John 19:17-37) [Spiritual fruit - Pardoning of Injuries]

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen,

This reminds me of the defeat of the Muslims in the Battle of Lepanto. In addition to saying the Rosary, the Church taught that Islam was a diabolical, false religion. Does the Church still do that? It seems to me that this is part of the problem.

My hunch is that when He returns as the Lion, His sword will be more terrible than any weapon we can conceive of, including nukes.

Just MHO.

Yes, I say the daily rosary. Sometimes a special prayer, but ordinarily I pray:

For my family.
For my family and friends who have died.
For those, including Freepers, who have asked me to pray for them or for their dead.
For my country.
For the Church and its leaders.

“The United States actually said it would help Nigeria with Boko Haram only if we modify our laws concerning homosexuality, family planning and birth control.”

Birth control is actually the beginning and the epicenter of the morality problem in this country.

Humanae Vitae

If not, why would we insist, and we certainly do, on its acceptance in a country even to the death of innocents?

The Rosary is powerful

Our priest certainly does. He’s the only one. and he is in good standing with the Holy See, he’s not a renegade

Oh, and His backup will be uncountable numbers of angels, just one of whom was enough to bring Pharoh to his knees.

“I didn’t need any prophet to give me the explanation. It was clear that with the Rosary we would be able to expel Boko Haram.”

Citing Jesus’ words in the apparition, he insists that no matter how long it takes, with faith in the Most Holy Rosary, “Boko Haram is gone.”

Hows that? Yea after they are all dead. First thing to do
if your going to get rid of any muslim group is to get hid of
their titular head, the Obama. Then you are going to need
lots of guns lots of ammo and lots of courage. You might can
take out a few eyes with the beads of the rosary and a slingshot
but that’s not going to do them much good. Pray all you want
but when the rubber hits the road it’s going to take boots
on the ground to rid the world of the scourge known as islam.

“Birth control is actually the beginning and the epicenter of the morality problem in this country.”

You mean people who like and enjoy having sex. That’s the
problem. No birth control no sex. Sex is a very powerful
force. Even priests have a hard time keeping it under control and quite a few don’t.

from:

http://www.tldm.org/news6/lepanto.htm

At dawn on October 7, at the entrance to the Gulf of Patras, the Christian and Moslem fleets finally came face to face for the battle of Lepanto.

The wind and all military factors favored the Muslims, but Don John was confident. He boarded a fast ship for a final review of his fleet. He shouted encouraging words to the men and they shouted back. After Don John returned to his own position, the wind mysteriously changed to the advantage of the Christian fleet. First-hand witnesses wrote about this moment as a most dramatic turn-of-events resulting from an “unknown factor”.

At that very moment, at dawn on October 7, 1571— as Vatican Archives later revealed—Pope Pius V, accompanied by many faithful, was praying the Rosary in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. From dawn to dusk the prayers continued in Rome as the Christians and the Muslims battled at Lepanto. When it was all over the Muslims had been defeated. Of some 270 Moslem ships, at least 200 were destroyed. The Turks also lost 30,000 men while Christian casualties numbered between 4,000 and 5,000.

The Rosary had won a great military victory. Like all truly great military leaders who hate war and love peace, Don John retired after his victory at Lepanto. He died a few years later at the age of 31. Another who took part in the great battle of Lepanto, Miguel de Cervantes, lived longer to write his famous tribute to Christian chivalry, Don Quixote.

God is the Author of life. Sex is used and abused in this country, and in the West - and I say this, not to you, but to ay reader that might look at what you say as any way logical or final- no one who reads Humanae Vitae could ever respond in such an ignorant manner. and the masses who do not read it are doomed to ignorance and they are running our country.

THe abuse of sex, its perversion, is what the democrats derive their power from, their money and power.

Again, please don’t respond, our conversation is over.

Take a moment, perhaps, and read about what you are condemning.

Not any Catholic (who knows the faith) nor any dogma, encyclical, priest, Pope, prayer, has ever claimed that Mary has any power other than, in the communion of saints, to talk to her son and present a cause.

It is Jesus who saves.
