RC Sproul Stroke Update
4/21/2015

From the Ligonier Ministries FB Page:
Thank you for your continued prayers for Dr. Sproul. The doctors did confirm a stroke occurred but we are thankful to God that there is no paralysis. In fact, he is very alert, feeling well, and resting comfortably. And the hospital staff is enjoying his sense of humor.

He is a brilliant apologist - one of the best I have heard.
My only major disagreement with him is in his calling the belief of a pre-tribulation rapture of Christians a "scheme" (his word).
He also espouses an amillenial belief (there will be no millennial reign of Christ after the tribulation, and that Revelation Chapter 20 is "symbolic."
I believe that is absolute rubbish.
However, Sproul is brilliant on so many other points. I wish him health and full recovery.

I know that I shall pray for God to provide a full and speedy recovery to the Rev. Dr. Sproul. I am a Roman Catholic and I feel sure that the theology of the Rev. Dr. Sproul differs from that of my Church in many ways. I have witnessed here on FR the respect that Reformed Christians show toward the Rev. Dr. Sproul and his work. Christianity aand Western Civilization can ill afford the loss of any Christian leaders of his caliber.
I am pinging others, including Catholics as well as Reformed Christians to urge us all to pray as hard as we know how for the Rev. Dr. Sproul's prompt and complete recovery.
When I was close to death for several weeks last winter, many Reformed Christians here joined with many Catholics to pray me back from death's door. I am determined to return that generosity because it is only right. When I saw what many of you wrote on FR about me and to God on my behalfAlexMurphy, I wept sincerely for hours. This is the best site on the web and the people who post here are mostly good and holy people whom I will never forget. I ask my fellow Catholics to do what is right and just and not allow theological differences to interfere or tempt us to neglect our Christian obligations toward great leaders of other Christian religions.
May God bless everyone here and all of their loved ones.

May the Divine Physician’s touch heal the good Rev. Dr. Sproul.
May all Christians be united in Christ’s mercy for the sick and suffering.
May our eyes be opened to those nearest to us in need of Christ’s love.

You are absolutely a saint to remind us to pray for Christians everywhere, particularly RC Sproul. Gee, he is a fixture among Protestant leadership and no one wants to lose these diligent, good men to illness.
Certainly, Dr. Sproul has a following of loving Christian followers who are praying and anxious for his health.
Let me join you all in prayers for his improvement. Love to all.
