These guys are not kidding. And the media is also going ballistics (see Washington Post, The Jerusalem Post and Turkish Todays Zaman, also here).
The media explosion started when the head of a provincial branch of Turkeys ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has stirred the pot by tweeting that the country should get ready for the caliphate of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
A caliph is a spiritual leader of Islam who claims succession from Prophet Muhammad. The word, stemming from the Arabic khalifa meaning successor, has been the focus of much debate since being claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The Mahdi will fill the earth with equity and justice as it was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years.
The seven year rule of the Mahdi is preceded by the seven year peace treaty which is said to be made with a descendant of Moses brother, Aaron the Priest. With all the bloodshed beginning from 2011, we expect that someone will arise by 2018 to say that ISIS style bloodshed and Sunni-Shiite killings must come to and end by planting forces in the troubled regions from Turkey. Egypt will be chaotic in the next few years and Libya is already chaotic. Turkey will move in fulfilling Daniel 11 that Antichrist must enter Libya and Egypt.
And with the world begging to have Islamic reformation, Erdogan is the man. He is perceived as a moderate Muslim who offers the world what is termed as the Turkish Model. And if Rome has a Pope, who is to argue that a Muslim coalition of states cannot have a Caliph led by Turkey? Expect in the next few years that Muslims will demand that right.

And if we look at Obamas policies in the Middle East, he is not bending the knee to the Saudi royals as thought by many, but to Erdogan. Obamas policies towards Iran and Saudi Arabia mimics Erdogans. One would wonder, why would Obama who comes from a Sunni background be allowing Iran to get away with so much including threatening Saudi Arabia? It was Erdogan who defended Irans nuclear dreams, not Saudi Arabia who wanted nothing but for Israel to destroys Irans capabilities.
So, folks will ask: are we seeing the rising Antichrist? Is this the one? So far all Prophecy analysts have been dead wrong when they gave a name of the Antichrist. This says much about their capabilities and the naive still listens to them. But when it comes to his origin, let us all be wrong and Christ alone be right when He said that Pergamum (Turkey) and not Rome is his seat. By this Christ was telling Turkey: thou art the seat of Satan (Antichrist):
To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. I know where you livewhere Satan has his throne.(Revelation 2:12-13)
What is the challenge?
Erdogan Is Now Reviving The Religion Of The Antichrist That Will Enable The Islamic Mahdi To Declare I Am God!
We’ve seen this Khartoum before.
Muslims are laughing at us. They know the Bible and are taunting us. Let them laugh, they don’t know what is the ultimate denouement.
Bring on your evil master. My Master will win.

Get ready for Erdogans caliphate, Turkeys ruling party official says
Does it issue the challenge?
Do you have a link?
If they do know the Bible, their condemnation for rejecting it is quite strong in that case.
I cannot find the ‘challenge’ in the book. Search Gods War on Terror, there is pdf but I don’t know if it is authorized by Shoebat. There are also video Shoebat has online.

In Islam, Jesus comes back as a radical Muslim to lead the Muslim armies, to abolish Christianity and to slaughter the Jews. As ironic and as perverted as that may sound, that is exactly what fundamental Muslims throughout the world believe and are awaiting.
Yes; that’s straight out of the Koran rather than having to do with knowledge of the Bible per se. I’ve read the verses where the Muslim figure Isa (Jesus) denies Sonship of God, especially at the Koranic last-day judgment.
Wow, they expect a lot out of a Jewish man. :P
It is believed by many Muslims that the Mahdi will come out of Turkey and unite all Muslims to conquer the world and Jesus will lead that conquest.
This false-christ will demand to be worshiped by all, that is biblical prophecy.
The AC will claim to be God. An Imam or Caliph claim authority from Allah, but don't claim to be Allah.
Now...If we look at the war of Gog/Magog, Turkey is one of the key players in that. And until the last several years, had actually been friendly with Israel. They have since done a complete 180.
Personally, I look at the nations listed in Ezekiel 38 to be virtually wiped out during this war. Severely weakening muslim aggression, and allowing the AC, whoever he is to claim HIMSELF to be god.
I find it kind of hard to believe that 1.6 billion muslims would follow a man who claims HIMSELF to be god or allah or whatever name he'll use. But wipe out 1 billion or more and you have a game changer.
Also, Revelation calls for 1/4 of the worlds population to be killed off by war. Making it easier for the AC to overcome other religions and claiming himself god.
And fits in perfectly with the war of Gog/Magog in Ezekiel.
Thanks. Couldn’t find it. I’m going to assume that he is saying that the challenge is to acknowledge that the Mahdi belief by Muslims parallels our Christian belief that the Messiah will return. I’m not an expert on Islam, so I’ll just take him at his word. Also, it’s not the first time I’ve heard the same.
Based on the prophecy of 70 weeks in Dan 9, a Turk could qualify as a descendant of those who participated with the Romans in destroying Jerusalem.
There was a throne to Zeus in Pergamum that was excavated. Antipas the Martyr is identified in Revelation by John, and tradition says he was ordained by John and martyred in a pot of oil.
So, pick out a blade of grass?
