And so the effort to grease the skids in preparation for what promises to be the upcoming Synods assault on Catholic doctrine in the name of pastoral solutions has been ratcheted up a notch:
Specifically, Pope Francis recent announcement of an extraordinary Jubilee under the title the Holy Year of Mercy.

No, since they weren't considered scripture. Perhaps I should have said 'value' vice inspiration.
“No, since they weren’t considered scripture. Perhaps I should have said ‘value’ vice inspiration.”
You just said, “...for the questionable he left the inspiration decision to the reader.”
Now you’re saying “since they weren’t considered scripture.” The very fact that there might be a question means sola scriptura is de facto unworkable.
And then I said value vs inspiration.
Now youre saying since they werent considered scripture. The very fact that there might be a question means sola scriptura is de facto unworkable.
At the time Luther translated them, they weren't 'considered scripture', not even by the Catholics. That they were 'canonized' at Trent, means they weren't before and that didn't happen until after Luther was dead.
Consider:
"And it has thought it meet that a list of the sacred books be inserted in this decree, lest a doubt may arise in any one's mind, which are the books that are received by this Synod."
'It Meet'. Well it sure doesn't look like the Catholics at Trent thought the scriptures were 'settled' until they said so. So, there were opinions on the validity of the books 'left behind' by Luther. As a Catholic Professor, he did contest the validity of the books, and put them in a separate appendix. A valid position at the time, and valid today. Since sola scriptura is something Catholics reject, why would one who holds to it be concerned or care about that opinion? As for those books, it really is painful to watch Catholics hold them equal to the Gospels as part of the Bible. "Couldn't be any worse if the devil himself rode into Lago"
Nice. Very charitable. More Catholic than the pope.
That is scandalous, using the original definition. I always laugh a trade being scandalized as they cause scandal in the process.
And lastly, the revolt against the papacy is the essence of modernism as it was defined in Pascendi.
Can your pastor forgive you your sins?
Mine can.
Did you mean “revolting papacy”?
Quote please.
“At the time Luther translated them, they weren’t ‘considered scripture’, not even by the Catholics.”
Some Catholics did not. Others did. The Church did.
“That they were ‘canonized’ at Trent, means they weren’t before and that didn’t happen until after Luther was dead.”
Except that the Council of Florence happened 40 years before Luther was born. Florence happened in 1442. Facts are stubborn things. Learn to accept them.
Just another indication that Pope Francis is a modernist.
"Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglios first greeting from the balcony of St. Peters Basilica upon his election as Pope Francis struck not a few observers as downplaying his role of universal head of the Church with unlimited jurisdiction worldwide.
The diocesan community of Rome now has its bishop, Pope Francis told the crowds in St. Peters Square March 13. And now, we take up this journey: bishop and people..."

Of course he can.
Yes they are, 40 years you say? Amazing then they reiterated it 40 years later. Nice try!
Yeah, that’s what you think.
1442, yes.
"Amazing then they reiterated it 40 years later. Nice try!"
No try, just success. 1442 is before 1483. Do you dispute that? And what does it matter that it was reiterated in the 1540s? That was not unusual. After Trent it would never be reiterated again. That was unusual.
The Council of Florence, SESSION 11 4 February 1442: "We, therefore, to whom the Lord gave the task of feeding Christ's sheep', had abbot Andrew carefully examined by some outstanding men of this sacred council on the articles of the faith, the sacraments of the church and certain other matters pertaining to salvation. At length, after an exposition of the catholic faith to the abbot, as far as this seemed to be necessary, and his humble acceptance of it, we have delivered in the name of the Lord in this solemn session, with the approval of this sacred ecumenical council of Florence, the following true and necessary doctrine. Most firmly it believes, professes and preaches that the one true God, Father, Son and holy Spirit, is the creator of all things that are, visible and invisible, who, when he willed it, made from his own goodness all creatures, both spiritual and corporeal, good indeed because they are made by the supreme good, but mutable because they are made from nothing, and it asserts that there is no nature of evil because every nature, in so far as it is a nature, is good. It professes that one and the same God is the author of the old and the new Testament -- that is, the law and the prophets, and the gospel -- since the saints of both testaments spoke under the inspiration of the same Spirit. It accepts and venerates their books, whose titles are as follows. Five books of Moses, namely Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy; Joshua, Judges, Ruth, four books of Kings, two of Paralipomenon, Esdras, Nehemiah, Tobit, Judith, Esther, Job, Psalms of David, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Baruch, Ezechiel, Daniel; the twelve minor prophets, namely Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi; two books of the Maccabees; the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John; fourteen letters of Paul, to the Romans, two to the Corinthians, to the Galatians, to the Ephesians, to the Philippians, two to the Thessalonians, to the Colossians, two to Timothy, to Titus, to Philemon, to the Hebrews; two letters of Peter, three of John, one of James, one of Jude; Acts of the Apostles; Apocalypse of John."
That explains everything...You are an altar boy,,, or girl...
The only thing it explains is your ignorance of Catholicism.
You don't?
so altar boys/girls don't assist in the Mass??? When did that change???
All Catholics, lay and otherwise, assist at every Mass they attend.
Nothing has changed.
