They are sometimes bad because God finds you where she is at.

Because we are all fallen creatures, prone to sin.

You will not find perfect people anywhere.

We’re all “bad”. That’s the point.

i hear a lot of people saying they haven’t been to church for ages and can’t go because they are big sinners.

Well the whole church is full of sinners, that’s where you should go to get better!

Because there’s no teaching in the church anymore.

Too many are involved in “social justice”; feeding the poor; protesting, etc.

Instead of STUDYING THE BIBLE .. and learning what it says and how it relates to the individual. Too much group think.

ONe might as well ask why you mainly see fat or
sick people in health food stores.

Who said the Church is a hospital for sinners, not a hotel for saints? Or something like that.

***It would be alright if they were good people, but they’re not!***

MARK 2:
15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Abigail Van Buren was quoting someone. It may have been George Craig Stewart, Episcopal Bishop of Chicago (1930-1940).

Amen. The only good Christian is a bad Christian (i.e. one who admits they’ve fallen short).

We shouldn’t be surprised to find sinners in church, any more than we should be surprised to find sick people in a hospital.

Church should be a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints.

I think churches mainly run into problems when they let the loonies run things. Things definitely run smoother when the old ladies are running the day to day, and the old boys put their heads together when things go badly awry.

The point about getting right with God is to change and become a new creature.

One thing I do have problems with is the idea that bad things only happen to people who deserve it. Is that a Catholic thing or a Protestant thing?

Christ came to save the sinners. Rejoice that they are even in church.

Also pray for the lost who do not attend church of any kind.
