See how ya are!
I disagree with the following; you, apparently, agree with them all.
Bonaventure: the gates of heaven will open to all who confide in the protection of Mary. Blessed are they who know thee, O Mother of God, for the knowledge of THEE is the high road to everlasting life, and the publication of thy virtues is the way of ETERNAL SALVATION . Give ear, O ye nations; and all you who desire heaven , serve, honor Mary, and certainly you will find ETERNAL LIFE.
Ephem: devotion to the divine Mother is the unlocking of the heavenly Jerusalem.
Blosius: To the, O Lady, are committed the KEYS and the treasures of the kingdom of Heaven.
Ambrose: constantly pray Open to us, O Mary, the gates of paradise, since thou hast its KEYS.
Fulgetius: by Mary God descended from Heaven into the world, that by HER man might ascend from earth to Heaven.
Athanasius: And, thou, O Lady, wast filled with grace, that thou mightiest be the way of our SALVATION and the means of ascent to the heavenly Kingdom.
Richard of Laurence: Mary, in fine, is the mistress of heaven; for there she commands as she wills, and ADMITS whom she wills.
Guerric: he who serves Mary and for whom she intercedes, is as CERTAIN of heaven as if he were already there and those who DO NOT serve Mary will NOT BE SAVED.
Anselm: It suffices, O Lady, that thou willest it, and our SALVATION is certain.
Antoninus:
souls protected by Mary, and on which she casts her eyes, are NECESSARILY JUSTIFIED AND SAVED.
“See how ya are!”
In other words, I was absolutely right when I said: “...I have never seen you - even once - say you have changed your mind and come to believe the Catholic faith is true on something that you and your sect previously believed to be false. So, you seem hypocritical...”
It isn’t just that you made a ridiculous statement, it’s that it was incredibly hypocritical. So, of course, you change the subject away from your own point.
Light a candle for me.
That will SURELY help!
I'm confused.
Do you agree or disagree with those CATHOLIC SCHOLARs?
>I dont get why they felt the need to cast lots. Peters listing of the qualifications for an Apostle make sense and then praying for Gods guidance makes sense but then throwing dice to determine Gods answer?<
Do what evangelicals exhort and “search the Scriptures” (cf. Acts 17:11)
Casting lots has abundant Scriptural support, as it was often done in the OT.*
And like a coin toss, and unlike so many the historical elections of popes - and Rome has never used the method of Acts 1 - it was a non-political method that was done in the open and which left the result up to God.
Do you really think there would have been a dynasty of Italian_popes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Italian_popes) if the election was done by lots?
Certainly God can accomplish His purposes despite the choices and shenanigans of man (even by the early 4th c. a pope employed a murderous mob in working to secure his seat) , but even RCs debate whether the cardinals are led by the Holy Spirit in their chose of popes. Esp. now. However, I hold they never were (the apostles were manifestly not RCs (http://peacebyjesus.witnesstoday.org/deformation_of_new_testament_church.html).

And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot. (Acts 13:19)
“I’m confused.”
No surprise there.
“Do you agree or disagree with those CATHOLIC SCHOLARs?”
Did you or did you not change the subject? The answer is: you did. The question then is: Why did you feel the need to do it?
Are you or areyou not avoidingthe subject?
Do you agree or disagree with those CATHOLIC SCHOLARs?
Why are you changing the subject? Are you afraid?
Whay are you avoiding the learned words of Catholic scholars?
You like straddling the fence?
“Whay are you avoiding the learned words of Catholic scholars?”
Nothing you posted has anything to do with what we were discussing so my question still stands: Why are you changing the subject? Are you afraid?
“You like straddling the fence?”
What fence? We were NOT talking about any quote from any “Catholic scholars”. Why are you changing the subject? Are you afraid?
Yes. Scared to DEATH!!!

“To Protestantism False Witness is the principle of propagation.”
(John Henry Newman, Lecture 4. True Testimony Insufficient for the Protestant View)
Someone's just trying to cash in on the fact that Purim's coming up!
“If you would have some direct downright proof that Catholicism is what Protestants make it to be, something which will come up to the mark, you must lie...To Protestantism False Witness is the principle of propagation.” Newman.
False premise, false conclusion;
The LORD Jesus Christ chose twelve Jewish apostles. He told Cephas that He would give him the power of binding and loosening, as well as the keys to the kingdom of heaven. He told the Apostles that whatever they asked in His name would be granted by the Father. Saul confirmed there were twelve apostles when he wrote that Jesus was seen after His resurrection by Cephas, the Twelve, then more than five hundred brothers, then James and all the apostles, and later, last to Saul, who was the least of all the apostles and not appropriately included among them because he persecuted the church of God. Nonetheless the Messiah selected Saul as a chosen vessel to the Gentiles and did great works through him, by which we all are blessed. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take. Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
