A man has interrupted the consecration of the Church of England's first female bishop.
The unidentified man said that "it was not in the Bible", when Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu asked the congregation if it was their will that Mrs Lane should be ordained.
The man asked to speak to Dr Sentamu about the "absolute impediment" before walking off.

Showing courage in the face of apostasy. Good for him.
Yep
Hey it’s their own fault, Henry left the one true church because he wanted a divorce. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
No one should be surprised that the spiritual heirs to the decadent, heretic Henry VIII have devolved into a neo pagan cabal of earth worshiping agnostics. Most of their clergy do not believe in the divinity or resurrection of Christ.
Clearly, Timothy was never married. : )
Seems like the kind of question you shouldn't ask if you don't want an honest answer.
The Archbishop of York is supposed to be a "conservative" Anglican, being from Africa and all. I wonder how he justified this to himself.
Was that guy “manspreading” again???
Timothy also states clergy can be married:
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach.”
1 Timothy 3:2
Bible lesson time
1Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
1Tim 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
He said “can be” and “should be” are two different things.
I said “can be”
Timothy said “must be the husband of one wife”
Priests were in fact married men in the Bible, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
Best just to do what I did, set your GOOD memories in stone, and leave that “church” behind.
Clearly, Timothy was never married. : )
The argument against 1Tim 2:12 & even Eps 2:11-15 is “IN Christ there is no male or female” Gal 3:28. Peter’s vision in acts 10 to justify innovations which seemed illicit, but which were spirit led. Also first female apostle in the NT named Junia in Rom 16:7. Also...
Abigail is the only Bible woman I know who went against her husbands wishes because what he wanted was dangerous. Other Bible women disobeyed rulers. (The NT says we need to obey governing authorities but this is not emphasized nearly as much as wifely submission.)
Several holy women went against authority figures, disobeyed laws and disregarded the wishes of their own husbands. Shiphrah and Puah disobeyed Pharaohs command, and God blessed them for their disobedience (Exodus 1:15-21).
Rebekah and Abigail went against their husbands wishes. There is no hint of censure against Rebekah in the Bible (Genesis 27:1-28:2); and Abigail was commended for her wise and brave actions (1 Samuel 25). Queen Esther, in order to save the Jewish people, disobeyed a law and risked her life by coming into her husbands presence without being summoned (Esther 4:11; 5:1). And even though Sarah is put forward as an example of wifely submission she didnt submit to Abrahams wishes to keep Ishmael
Eph should read 5:21-24 and not Eps 2:11-15
Jesus had female followers, with Mary Magdalene being the most noted. What records are there of their preaching?
With all due respect, I think our religion can handle a little humour, what about you?
Your point?
