But if one believes in “Once saved, always saved”, why would one need further forgiveness? Why not revel in temptation?

Will reveling in temptation bring you happiness?

Honest question.

Do you REALLY mean to steer this thread into Protestant differences and let the MAJOR heresy of Mormonism slither away?

There's no more need for forgiveness that leads to salvation. That's a done deal.

There is a need for us to ask forgiveness for disobedience that breaks down the communication.

Also, God will not let His children go on a path to self-destruction. He will chastise them and bring them back into right relationship with Himself.

Because we teach it is impossible-- since those who have been regenerated perform good works also, "for it is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure" (Php 2:13). It is the fruit of salvation, an evidence of a new creation, and thus can only be avoided by those who are false converts.

Paul addressed that, paraphrased, "If Grace abounds more than sin, should we not sin MORE and let Grace abound even MORE? God forbid." So, in keeping with YOUR question, I'd like to know: 1) What is it you did to Earn or deserve Salvation? 2) If the answer to the above question is "Nothing" which I believe it to be, then how do you possibly retain something you could not earn? IF you can't earn it, you can't possibly be 'good' enough to warrant it, how can you possibly be 'good' enough to keep it?

“Once Saved Always Saved” is nowhere to be found in the scriptures. It is the most egregious blasphemy ever spoken.

No one is saved yet, while many are on his narrow path, salvation comes when he gathers us at the last trump, and only those that have remained in faith will be gathered.

The apostles have all stated this plainly, but there are those among us that love to twist Paul's long ramblings into something that they simply do not say.

Read Paul's epistle to the Hebrew dispersion, particularly chapter 6, to see that this OSAS nonsense is Satan's finest propaganda.

Hebrews 6:

[1] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
[2] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
[3] And this will we do, if God permit.
[4] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
[5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
[6] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
[7] For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
[8] But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
[9] But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
[10] For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
[11] And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
[12] That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
[13] For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
[14] Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
[15] And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

.
If Abraham had to patiently endure, who are these slackards to declare that they need not?

.
