The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

There was no "Catholic Church" until 300 years after the apostles.

You know guys, it has been so long since I was a catholic, that I do not remember for sure, but as far as I can remember, I don't think they taught that Mary didn't die, only that her body then went to Heaven. I don't agree with that, but here is the point. If Mary was sinless, I don't think she would have been subject to death. Only when Adam brought sin into the world, did physical death enter in. This is a dilemma no? How is that for a good interpretation? 😄

Claiming we would not have scripture without the Catholic Church when God promised He would preserve His word for all generations is not a lack of faith in God keeping His promise?

Thanks. We did not get to go out to eat. My daughter broke her back years ago when a bookcase fell on her. She had a spinal injection on the 19th and was in bed all day yesterday. She has got to feel better. She has a company to run. We will celebrate later.

there are none so blind as those who are misguided by man made doctrines....like from 1933
HMMMmmm...I thought the Roman Catholic Church finally decided, that the demon that appeared at Fatima in 1917, was MARY, in 1930 - NOT 1933!

...we Catholics take Him at His word...Bob, bob, BOB!!!
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.

The way you stated it just now is not “making it personal” but by saying “your lack of faith” is WAS “making it personal.”
To: Religion Moderator
He made the statement but I’ll reword it next time.

>>Circumcision is work of Jewish law.<< What is the "Jewish law" thing? God established commands which are referred to as laws. Circumcision was a command by God. I certainly hope that He rescinded it.....

When I met the real Jesus, not the Jesus of the cults, my life was transformed. Something that was utterly unknown in the cult I was in before. You just weren't paying attention...it was and is still there. Christ is the entire emphasis in the Catholic church and has been for 2,015 years. You will, someday, realize that again and when you do, WELCOME HOME!!! We've been around since even before 1933.

It's been shown that they've taught BOTH! Well, it has been so long since I was there, I just did not remember. When there is a ton of false doctrine in a religion, I am sure it probably was taught both ways.

You are right. People are fooled all the time. That is how Jim Jones got started. It is easy to follow the wrong crowd if you do not know the Bible. In a way, Manson had the same kind of influence. His followers needed to believe in something and he was there. I have never been that needy, thank God. Jim Jones was around in 1978, tha Navigators in 1933, other than the 45 years, what's the difference???

If they wanted to go to high school, they had to board with someone with the school or people who lived nearby. He knew the Bible, though. He may have been the greatest biblical scholar who ever lived, I didn't know him. However, he was probably a very good man who personally interpreted the Bible AS HE UNDERSTOOD IT.....Nothing necessarily wrong, just probably incomplete.
