The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

Our priests do not pass out pages of the Bible to eat during Mass because Jesus did not pass out pages of the Bible to eat at the Last Supper.
And you know that as well as I do.

Praying to the dead is necromancy.

Yet it appears you care enough to persist on this thread...

“I am sick and tired of the anti-Catholic postings on this web site”
And I tire of the opposite, the constant beating of the drum for catholicism and constant antiChristian threads posted by catholics...

Are you assured of your "Salvation"?
Or is your theology a "works theology."

We pray to those who have eternal life in Christ.I know you do...but that is necromancy.
Why not go directly to Jesus? He died and was resurrected just so you could have a direct line to Him. Why use intermediaries when He is asking you to speak with Him directly.
To ignore Him is to insult Him.
Ignore the tradition of the Church and go directly to Him.
Try it tonight!
He seeks your prayers.

You really ought to go beyond the pithy little soundbites and get into His word. 1 Corinthians 6:1-6 If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lords people? Or do you not know that the Lords people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother takes another to courtand this in front of unbelievers!

I pray to Jesus every night.
I don’t need you to counsel me to do so.

All people are sinners? Answer the question yourself, please.I am most certainly a sinner...and a forgiven one.
So is Mary...and that's the point of this thread.
BTW, I am scum of the earth...but forgiven by my Lord.
Much love to you, Sister.
To: DuncanWaring
I am happy that you do. No counsel from me.
But this thread is about necromancy.;-)

You do realize, I hope, that OSAS is a false doctrine.

"she cant pray either, shes dead." So Jesus Christ lied to the thief on the cross because the thief would not be with Christ in Paradise that very day but instead, he'd be dead until some later date.
Folks who call Jesus Christ a liar aren't Christian no matter what they call themselves.

I was asked a question and I answered it. To not do so is rude.
To: Salvation
I can't say that the Lord has revealed that to me.
I try to serve Him every day, all the time, and mess up more than I get it right.
I considered become a Catholic, but the Church's position on praying to the dead, purgatory, and lack of assurance (lack of Trust In God) upon death turned me away.
I believe Catholics are every bit as Godly as Protestants. But I also believe they are misguided and that causes much unnecessary pain.
BTW, many Prots are misguided.
But God is Real and Solid as a Rock.
To: Rashputin
Good point. But you just disavowed Purgatory.
To: Salvation
My point is...can your earn your Salvation...or was it offer free of charge?
