To understand the women’s ordination debate in the Catholic Church it is instructive to see the issue in the wider ecumenical context. The push for women’s ordination began in the Anglican Communion....

Surprise, surprise! Another Catholic thread not discussing or even giving thought to Protestants!

What about priests and marriage?

Is there anything in the Bible which prohibits a priests from marriage?

Women “priests”

Gay “marriage”

“Patriotic” Obama voters

Liberals love oxymorons, and they are too deluded to see the contradictions in their beliefs.

Why no mention of the relevant Holy Scriptures here?

Titus 1:6 "An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient."

1 Timothy 3:2 "Therefore, an elder must be blameless, the husband of one wife, stable, sensible, respectable,"

Oops, Catholics can't use this since it says "Husband of one wife" with believing obedient children. Too bad.

"Roma Locuta Est—Causa Finita Est. Rome has spoken. That settles it."

For me, in my life as a Catholic, it pretty much says it all. I think I'm going to print that out and frame it!

Personally I do not have a problem with it in theory.

Both male and female were created in God’s image. Both I feel are capable of effectively preaching His Word. In Jesus’ time women held such low social status that nobody would have listened to them, so this would have been impractical.

However, my observations of other churches that ordain women led me to conclude that only the most radical far-left activist feminists were lined up to apply for the job. So that gives me pause.

Fr. Longnecker is whistling past Bergoglio’s graveyard.

Nothing is off the table with Papa Tango:

>> “I asked the synod fathers to speak with frankness and courage and to listen with humility — to say everything that was in their hearts with courage,” he said. “There was no pre-censorship at the synod. None. Everyone could, or better, had to say what was in his heart, what he really thought.”<<

The ‘ordination’ on the boat in the Danube was the undercard to the main event: the Mike Tyson / Secretariat fight.

Because you can’t call a woman “Father”. And Mother Superior has already been taken.

If you want a woman priest, become an Episcopalian.
