What Is Advent?
Heavenly Father –
Advent marks the beginning of the New Year in the Christian liturgical calendar. As it reminds us of the wait for the first coming of Your Son, may we in confidence continue to wait for the Promise of His Second Coming. With the turmoil in the world, made evident by the daily news, may we hold to the Promise that Your Son will make all things right.
As we wait for the second Advent, let us confess our sins as well as the sins of our nation and be washed by the blood of Your Son, who came to die for us and redeem us from the curse of the law. While we wait, may we seek and turn to You with all our heart.
Protect our heroes who go into harm’s way to guard our freedoms and keep us safe. May we never forget the sacrifices they are making as well as their families to serve others, especially during the holidays. Give a special grace to all those who are persecuted for Your Name’s sake.
