According to a Global Survey from Ipsos MORI, Americans think 56 percent of the country is Christian, when it is actually closer to 78 percent, and 15 percent of the country is Muslim, when its really just 1 percent.

I don’t think many of the muslims around here are all that observant. A few years ago, I asked around to the muslims I knew about where they bought their meet. The ones I talked to shopped at Costco. They knew where the local arab or persian markets were, but they couldn’t care less about getting halal meat. They were in America to get away from religious zeal, not to indulge in it.
"I was mere pointing out" that people who speak like you do about religion usually haven't traveled far enough outside the family holler to meet someone with a different last name.

Please use instead of “orthodoxy”, the word “conservative” instead, because the Eastern Christians use that word. Thank-you.
I will not dumb down scholarship. It is known that orthodox (not capitalized) is understood by all in and out of academia. If you are not familiar with it, then get familiar.
I am going to use conservative instead. Let us agree to disagree.
If Christians would simply order their politics like Christians, and stop compromising with evil, there would be no more abortions being committed by next Friday. And "gay marriage" would be unthinkable.

I think your 20% is being generous. I think 10% is far more likely.
America still clings to its Christian roots through tradition so appears to be more Christian than it actually is. But that facade is getting stripped away with each passing day.
