FULL TITLE: "[Catholic Caucus] World Over - 2014-10-09 – Cardinal Raymond Burke on the Synod on the Family with Raymond Arroyo"

RAYMOND CARDINAL BURKE, prefect of the Holy See's Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican, on the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops for the Family currently underway in Rome and his chapter in the new book, Remaining In the Truth of Christ (Ignatius Press), on the indissolubility of marriage and his thoughts on Walter Cardinal Kasper's recent proposals to harmonize "fidelity and mercy" in the Church's pastoral approach to divorced and remarried Catholics and the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

TOPICS: Catholic; Moral Issues; Religion & Culture; Theology
KEYWORDS: annulment; communion; divorce; synod
A very interesting interview of Cardinal Raymond Burke by EWTN's Raymond Arroyo on his "The World Over" TV show.    Cardinal Burke is very frank in his discussion here about Cardinal Kaspar's recent proposals, and even in his responses to certain questions Arroyo asked him about Pope Francis.

In my parish we have remarried couples and unmarried couples. They do not take or ask for Communion. If the Church doesn’t bless their situations they do not go to a different sort of more compatible Church because Truth remains Truth. You can go elsewhere to feel better but you won’t go to Heaven just because that other “church” thinks it can change the rules.Finding a “compatible” church means one is effectively an atheist. One did not and does not believe in anything except mutual earthly personal acceptability.

Excellent interview.

I agree. Raymond Arroyo is not afraid to ask probing questions at times, and Cardinal Burke is a very honest and forthright man.

You are so right.

I think some of these people are telling God He is wrong on this issue. They might want to reconsider their position.
