On Sunday, September 21, a group of Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and friends joined 400,000 other people in New York City for the People’s Climate March. The huge, hope-filled gathering was the largest political demonstration around the climate crisis in history. We marched behind the banner shown below – The Vincentian Family for Climate Justice- For the Sake of Earth-For the Sake of Those Made Poor.
Many bystanders cheered as they saw our banner - including a woman wearing the traditional nurse’s cap from St. Vincent’s hospital – modeled after the cornette of the Daughters of Charity. The crowd was very diverse and we were especially encouraged to see so many young people singing protest songs that many of us remember from the 1960’s.
One simple action you can take to join the groundswell of popular support for effective governmental action on the climate crisis is to visit the Our Voices website. Very sad. I went to grammar school run by the Sisters of Charity. They were cruel but fair (a la the Dinsdales). Never thought they were stupid. Of course that was over 70 years ago. How times change.

That’s why I left the cold climate of NY, and moved to Florida.
When it comes to the type of “climate change” those people talk about, I’ll bet the the vast majority of them have no clue about the science, and how much of it is pure junk.

They need a book club to read things they haven’t had time for with their “social justice” agenda. I’d suggest they start with the all-time bestseller “The Holy Bible”. Who knows what they might learn from exposure to something new?

They may be a member, but I have to say, they do work hard teaching in Catholic elementary and high schools and administering schools and hospitals, some are doctors and nurses, and their sisters in Maryland did treat the soldiers in the civil war, I have to give them credit for that.
But they are the most liberal I know in NJ. I guess it was their Irish upbringing and subsequent brainwashing in the convent. Most don’t even live in community any more, condos are the way to go.

These are the ancestors of the famous nuns who I still remember wearing the habit of St. Catherine Laboure with their butterfly type headdress. (Wow they were pretty)
Ah, but that was before Vatican II. They took care of the sick then — they didn’t have time to march.

First question is where are their habits? No habits? Not nuns. Oh excuse me I must be corrected, no sisters.
Without a habit they are simply a bunch of women who have lost their way.
Do they say the rosary and the liturgy of the hours every day? do they attend Mass every day? Probably not. Just a bunch of leftist fruitcakes.
My late cousin, a Dominican nun, is probably rolling over in her grave as likely are all of my grammar school Dominicans.
Nah.. This pope would rather have a seat at the UN.
