Many people are understandably dismayed by the the Supreme Court's refusal to hear several gay marriage cases effectively codifying gay marriage in several states.
While it is certainly disappointing, it isn't really unexpected.
I hate to break this news to you, especially if you are one of these people who think that this country, a country founded with limited government, separation of powers, and federalism, is still recoverable by normal means, it isn't.
The U.S. as we knew it and understood it is gone and it isn't coming back, at least not by regular constitutional means. Nope.
Federalism, limited government, checks and balances, all gone. We now have a rapidly increasing federal behemoth with unlimited powers granted to itself rapidly centralizing power in the person of the president (I don't say office, but person). All of which is hell bent on running every part of your life including your morality, all aided and abetted by an unelected black-robed oligarchy.
You can elect all the Republicans you want, do you really think they will change anything? Not a chance.
Nope the U.S. is done. And you know what? That may be a good thing. Such government, even one founded on the principles of limited constitutional powers and federalism, can only work for a people for whom Christ is their King. That isn't us.
I don't know where we go from here, but I suspect that it is bad. I continue to believe I have a moral obligation to behave in a lawful way, but I no longer consider myself bound in loyalty to a government that has has moved beyond the powers granted to it. Morality, decency, and legitimate freedom will not be restored to Americans through election, it will take other means. I believe the world will undergo a crisis incomprehensible to most and what will emerge from the other side is a different people. That different people will choose a different government.
Until then, we have chosen tyranny and tyranny is what we will get.
Such government, even one founded on the principles of limited constitutional powers and federalism, can only work for a people for whom Christ is their King. That isn’t us.
BTW, we lve in a theocracy whether we like it or not. I agree that our problems exist because we have turned our backs on God. It is possible that like Ninevah we could repent and be saved, but it doesn't look that way.

“I hate to break this news to you, especially if you are one of these people who think that this country, a country founded with limited government, separation of powers, and federalism, is still recoverable by normal means, it isn’t.”
Yep.
Do you think there was a conspiracy in the Confederate government to kill Jackson?
I cannot discern whether your FR handle means you are overweight...or underweight.
CWII Ping!
According to Alex, here's what B-Chan posted just three days before his banning, on the Michael Voris "the USA should be a benevolent Catholic dictatorship" thread Catholic Government (my emphasis added):
Maybe now folks will finally realize that "traditional American conservatism" as it has been known is neither traditional nor conservative. It is a farce and a fraud good old-fashioned Jean Jacques Rousseau liberalism wrapped in a red-white-and-blue bathrobe. Maybe now they will begin to see that the Constitution, the Statue of Liberty, and Wall Street are part of the same monstrous history-spanning project that brought us the French Revolution, the Soviet Union, and two World Wars. Perhaps now they will come to see that real capital-C Conservatism has nothing to do with individual Liberty and everything to do with individual Duty, and that real Conservatism is not and cannot be divorced from the Christian religion and the historic Christian culture of the West prior to the so-called "Enlightenment".
We Catholics need do nothing but watch and pray. The house of cards John Locke and his contemporaries have built is about to come down upon its own foundation of sand. And after the crash comes, those of us who survive can once again take up the task given us by God after the last pagan empire fell: the construction of civilization based not upon Libery, Equality, and Fraternity, but upon Tradition, Family, and Property.

This is what happens when America Asks For A King, as Laura Hollis told US way back on Oct 26, 2008.
We want; we got, then we got again.
Now it's BOHICA every day, baby!
evil wins when good people do nothing, same can be said for communist and socialist ideals.
We are not of this world. This is VERY temporary for all of us. Countries come and go.
Where would the early church have been if it had put its faith in Rome?
I tend to agree. America has become the opposite of everything it once was and once represented. An abject sewer of tyranny and depravity. This is certainly no longer the country I pledged allegiance to, and certainly not a country I would fight and die to preserve. Not a country that has sunk so low and is so degenerate as to equate two homo perverts as the same as a married couple, and is now using the power of the state to crush anyone who doesn’t bow down and submit to this.
But I still have the vigor and single-minded determination to continue to fight evil. Even if that evil is now fully inhabiting and in control of the country I live in.
That is for damn sure. It has slided into destruction so far no current means can ever bring it back. And the most destructive force is the American people who most have been playing with their toys that they were, and millions still are, blind. And King Obama, the communists BLACK Muslim traitor has finished the downfall.

Well you are right but we will get it back. Sadly its going to take CWII to do it. The GOP will little or nothing to correct the problems we are facing now. It does not mean I won’t go vote but I have no faith in our Congress.
I’ve been saying this for a while. We’ll not get back to a limited, Constitutional government by elections anymore. We won’t get back to America with OCare, and it ain’t going anywhere. At this point, it’s time to buckle in for one heckuva bumpy ride, I’m afraid.
“This author types as though the author wishes for chaos.”
I thought he was typing as though it is already here. I agree, it is already here.
Republics become democracies, and then tyrannies.
Always. With out exception. The simple fact is most people are unable to make decisions. They want a strong man. If you are lucky you get a king. If you are not you get Stalin.
The US was founded by people who wanted to be Free, but then was flooded by people who want to be taken care of. Guess who we have more of.
I remember B-chan.
I had hoped that we were not as close to the tipping point as we are today.

Oh go f yourself, quitter.
But panem et circenses will suffice.
