Email from Joel Osteen. I have posted the daily email that Joel Osteen sends out. Ordinarily people are not allowed to debate this email. In this case you may but please be respectful of others who may follow Osteen.

This actually a good email.
I see too often people have emotional and mental states altered by what someone says.
You don’t have to accept aspersions.
You can be self deprecating and also accept that only what you think and God thinks really only matter.
People like who spend their time tearing others down are so lacking in substance, it’s the only way they find relevancy and self validate their existence.
To hell with em.
I’ll take what my Mom, brother and sister say. Their feedback is honest and rooted in seeing the best in me.
When I’m not acting true to my potential as a man, a person, a human..they let me know and it’s usually along the lines “Wouldn’t think you’d do that or allow that”.
Have a belief in yourself and unshakable confidence.
People are crazy, God is good.
None of his blatherings do.
I often wonder how JO would respond with Job like adversity.

I’ve seen some pretty awesome subjects, that would have had meaning or inspiration, go sideways, with hijacks.
Why don’t you all just ask the pope to issue a fatwa, burn the Osteens, and then schedule a genocidal crusade against their members. That’s what Jesus would do, right?
LOL better than getting fired. BTW, have a friend who got ex’d for apostasy last year and then got saved and went into ministry. When her Stake pres found out he got her reinstated (which takes permission of the prophet) to full Mormon membership in hopes of her dropping the ministry after she told him not to.
She resigned right after she found out.
It is totally Christian based, we are just anti-false gospel as per Jim.
Osteen isn’t Christian, he teaches prosperity gospel garbage and abuses the name of Christ for gain.

My personal feeling with regard to all things Osteen is live and let live. :-)

It is the owner’s rules, and I find them reasonable. Not everyone wants to debate their religious beliefs.
Olsteen will and does say "things people like" and that is the problem, he preaches prosperity gospel but not scripture and people love having their "ears tickled."
Paul tells us in II Timothy 4:3 & 4, "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions (4) and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." ESV
Olseen and his misses are not alone in preaching to those who will not listen to "sound doctrine" as Paul predicts but will search out those preachers who tell them such things as "God loves you and wants you to be happy and that is good."
God does love you for you are His creation. He knew you before you were born, knows exactly is good for you and knows exactly what it takes for you to live a life that will bring Him joy: loving and worshipping Him, giving thanks for all that He has given you (beginning with your life and Savior Redeemer, Jesus Christ) and following His Son Jesus Christ and living a life of service to others with Christ as your Role Model.
God's desire "to prosper you" is not as the world defines as "prosperity" but as God defines it and that is as far as the North Pole is from the South Pole.
One of God's definitions of "prosperity" is sharing your faith in Him with someone who is lost.
The Olsteens are exactly whom Paul describes in II Timothy, folks who have perfected the talent of telling people exactly what they want to hear, not what is necessary to gain Eternal Life.
They like many others have casts of thousands who never tire of hearing exactly what they want rather than what God requires of them, i.e. believing that God is a great Santa Clause who really is happy giving us everything we want and when we're happy, He's happy.
But everyone has to look at their, often, provocative headlines. And are powerless to comment.
This is exactly backwards. We should not focus on the “good in our lives”. Instead we are to search and confess the sins in our lives.
It is, after all, the little foxes that spoils the vineyards.

This is an issue because at best, Joel Osteen is lukewarm.

We also need to consider the Osteens’ rather opulent lifestyle. He doesn’t need to go around in rags to proclaim the Truth, but it seems that he’s living it up just a bit.

We live in times of controversy and Osteen is probably the last person to take a stand and apply his faith in the world. Has Osteen ever directly criticized 0bama’s policies on something so wrong as abortion for example?
