OPERATING GRACE
Similar to preventing or prevenient grace, it precedes the free consent of the will or accompanies it in the performance of an act. The thought of doing a good act suggests itself with no effort on the part of the human being, as an indeliberate impulse.

Catholic Word of the Day Ping!
If you aren’t on this Catholic Word of the Day Ping list and would like to be, please send me a FReepmail.
As St. Paul said, God has prepared for us in advance good works, that we might walk in them.
I was thinking of an example:
“Holding the door open for the person behind you at the grocery store.”
Other things just done out of habit?
Or maybe you get a thought, “Wouldn’t it be a good idea to bring my neighbor’s trash can in?”
Then you'd have his trashcan and he wouldn't have any. That's Satan talking to you. You have to resist those impulses.
With a sprained wrist I know I would appreciate someone bringing my recycle and trash cans in.
Also, I have a neighbor who leaves early for work. He comes over and waters the front part of my lawn. God bless him.
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in Heaven.”
You keep your trash cans into his yard, behind his holly bush? The deeper we go down this rabbit hole the weirder it gets. I don't need to know anymore.
