Magic Underwear & Magic Food

Mormons have some really weird beliefs. For example, many (all) Mormons believe they (males only) can take a cooking/salad oil, pour just a small drop on the crown of your head and their god will heal them of almost anything.

Mormons believe that by wearing ugly underwear bought from a specific company, their god will protect them from harm.

Mormons believe that by wearing a really weird looking costume they are taught secret ways to touch angels so after they die, the angels will let Mormons get into heaven quicker.

Mormons believe their god requires women to not wear outer clothing that covers their crotch (pants) to worship their god in a large and spacious room (chapel).

Mormons believe that a little torn piece of bread and a small sip of water that has been chanted over and then swallowed will require their god to forgive them for their sins.

Mormons believe by consuming certain foods and wearing funny looking clothes god loves them more than the rest of the humans.

It is the same with all parents. We love our children more or less depending upon how ugly their clothes are and how they consume small bits of food items.

The Mormon god must have a sense of humor watching his "SPECIAl" children called Mormons think this makes god love them the most.

My absence of any adherence to an organized religion gives me unique insight into bigotry.

So you're one of those anti-organized religions bigots.

So you don't wear magic, err, ahem, "sacred" underwear that is supposed to protect you from harm?

Yes, Mormons have some strange beliefs. I could never be one. That being said, most of them are patriotic, moral, decent, and clean....and a lot of them vote conservative.
Oh, and here’s a big one, they aren’t advocating the destruction of Israel, driving Christians from Iraq, kidnapping girls in Nigeria, beheading infidels, practising female genital mutilation, prenatal holocaust, or advocating open borders....the list goes on.

So, let them be. Prusuade them of the truth of the historic Christian faith with gentleness and sound arguments, if you must, but mocking them like this does no good.

Bigotry would be getting on a conservative forum and trying to shout down the Christians.

I’ll add to that - your post is disgusting, ill-mannered and - well, words not fit for FR best describe it.

Have y’all stopped preaching in garages and handling snakes yet ?

I’m not at all down with it but, I’ll say one good thing about the Mormon undies. It cured me of all impure thoughts I had of those cute Mormon missionaries that come to my door.

Um, not just Mormons.

As for the rest, most religions have had ideas about ritual purity and purification.

And most of those ideas sound strange to outsiders.

"We do not join associations of clergy or councils of churches. We keep our distance from the ecumenical movements.

Would it really make you so happy if they threw in with the NCC and WCC?

Got better things to talk about than my underwear. Or do you have a “thing” about other peoples’ underwear. Speedos, maybe?

Mormonism - a religion that projects its obsession with underwear onto its detractors.

Thank you for your post. It’s nice to see the words “ill-mannered” used here. Some us know the world is on fire and then there are some people who are obsessed with what decent Americans do within their own religion. Sickening.

This is the religion forum. If you are not a Christian and do not want to talk about Christianity or other religions, you should go to the "world is on fire" forum and stay there.

I don’t think that Joseph Smith and Muhammad are unique in claiming unique divine revelation and authority - it is a common temptation for any cult leader to grant themselves such power. At any time, you can find dozens of such cult leaders around the world, claiming direct revelation.

Most are just con artists who get some minimal following or personal benefit, but occasionally one will have great charisma, leadership, organizational ability or powerful sponsors.

Muhammad threw away all moral restrictions to promote his cult (and therefor his absolute power) - massacring prisoners, making extensive use of slavery and slave raiding, allowing those who would fight for him to rape prisoners (slaves) at will, including homosexual rape of children, and extensive use of the submit or die strategy you reference (the quran or the sword). Muhammad was also a talented politician and military tactician. In such respects, he was quite different from Joseph Smith.

Caucus threads are not invisible. They're just labeled with the word "caucus."

Who died and made you the head of Free Republic? Amazing that you’d like to convert Mormons with despicably hateful posts. It never fails - you guys use the most disgusting language in a fake attempt to convert people. You convert no one here. And now let’s watch you bully/cowards run to the mods.

Like Mitt Romney? But, in either case, there is something more important here that you folks aren't understanding (probably because you do not realize this is the religion forum). Mormonism is a religion that damns people's souls. The more people know about its teachings, the better. The spotlight always disinfects.
