A canon lawyer alleging a widespread cover-up of clergy sex misconduct in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has made her most detailed claims yet, accusing archbishops and their top staff of lying to the public and of ignoring the U.S. bishops' pledge to have no tolerance of priests who abuse.

False doctrine breeds corruption. These miscreants have only grudgingly provided information and admitted wrong-doing when caught red-handed. Pope Frank provides lip service to victims which costs the church exactly $0. What an utter disgrace.

False doctrine breeds corruption.

What is the false doctrine which bred this particular corruption?

I am no fan of the current Pope, especially when it comes to economic and immigration policy.

However, that all stated, I do agree with the Pope that this draconian policy of compulsory clerical celibacy certainly does need review.

Some rather serious accusations there.

Dr Thorne

could you kindly identify which sect or schismatic group you belong to or are you just another one of those protestants who ‘church themselves’ every Lord’s Day>

I think we need to spend some quality time taking a very close look at the number, type and kind of abuse cases filed against your sect’s hierarchy and whether they have been properly dealt with.

False doctrine breeds corruption.

Ahhhhh.....I see.

So if we can find a church where there is absolutely no corruption, this would indicate the absence of any false doctrine.....ergo, we've found the one, true Church.

Have I got that right?

Nope. Humans are fallible. Good Biblically-based doctrine merely mitigates the corruption that is inherent in all of us. But when people are told to pray to Mary and other humans, that doing good works will save them and that they should treat the mumblings of scared children in the same manner as Holy Scripture, the very foundation of that faith is false and corruption will run rampant as the whole world has seen in the Catholic Church.

Jennifer Haselberger, who spent five years as Archbishop John Nienstedt's archivist and top adviser on Roman Catholic church law, also charged that the church used a chaotic system of record-keeping that helped conceal the backgrounds of guilty priests who remained on assignment.

Haselberger said that when she started examining records in 2008 of clergy under restrictions over sex misconduct with adults and children she found "nearly 20" of the 48 men still in ministry. She said she repeatedly warned Nienstedt and his aides about the risk of these placements, but they took action only in one case. As a result of raising alarms, she said she was eventually shut out of meetings about priest misconduct. She resigned last year.

Lay Catholics hold no sway in the selection or termination of an archbishop, with those decisions made solely by the Vatican. But it is rare for even a handful of influential members of the local Catholic community to step out so publicly against an archbishop. They join a handful of local priests who have publicly called for new leadership....[Archbishop John Nienstedt], however, repeated his earlier denial of rumors that he had asked the Vatican to replace him at the head of the archdiocese. “I am responsible for leading this local Church and accountable for ensuring we have safe environments where the Gospel of Jesus Christ can flourish,” he wrote Wednesday.

In other words that religion is rife with pedos and continues to cover up for the perverts...Ovbiously Frank over there is providing a lot of lip service to quell the pew sitters...

Ahhhh..........so the presence of corruption is not, per se, diagnostic of the presence of "false doctrine".

Have I got that right?

In Mosul, Islamic Caliphate Orders: No Aid to Christians, Shiites, While Homes Are Expropriated

While some want to bring down the Church, Moslems are attacking and killing Christians. We should get our priorities and focus right -- the focus is on stopping and destroying Islam
