Lately I have been angry at the many things I see going on around me. I find myself wondering if the things I care about are worth my time. I see many people around me walking in a daze, caring only for what the world has to offer them here and now.
It seems like my friends and relatives dismiss the things I share with them as just another rant from someone who is way too wrapped up in things they could care less about. I find myself so overwhelmed at times that I wonder if maybe my anger has to do with some unseen, unsearched problem I have shoved down deep inside my heart.
When I feel this way that I am guided to Psalm 139:23-24. It's a power play on my heart. I must bring in the Lord, because I know that He will give me the peace I need to face the world and my loved ones who are blind to the truth, and then I can continue to be the example He wants me to be for them.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24
