Mormons baptize others based on the faith of a different person. How does that differ from Catholic teaching?

The proxy baptism for Mormonism is for someone who died and isn’t there.

As I said above the baby is there, the parents are there and the godparents are there.

There is no “proxy” baptism in Catholicism. It is a real Baptism.
