When they were rounding up protestant “molesters” back in the 80s it all fell apart due to coaching on the part of psychologists who were planting stories in the heads of young children. Knowledge of the past is why I’m sympathetic with Catholics on this issue.
Sure religious people occasionally molest kids but I suspect it happens less than among the secular public who doesn’t believe there will be a spiritual penalty.
There have been a lot of ambulance chasing attorneys who did this coaching.
Supposedly only 50% of the priests were anywhere near guilty of charges. I suspect the same of other denominations too.
