There have been a lot of ambulance chasing attorneys who did this coaching.
Supposedly only 50% of the priests were anywhere near guilty of charges. I suspect the same of other denominations too.
The big Protestant witch hunt was in the pre internet 80s so its hard to get a straight story on them. Sure a handful were guilty but they were charging whole congregations and stripping them of their children as if they were child molesting cults. Almost all of those cases collapsed.
It was almost all driven by the psychiatric profession trying to convict Christianity as a whole. Its why I as a Protestant refuse to play the game of attacking Catholics.
