How does flopping down on the floor and flailing around like an idiot enhance the spiritual life? Have yet to read any saints who recommend this approach.

I have been to a number of prayer group meetings and NONE of what you have posted take place. It is sitting, listening to God speak, clapping hands, rasing hands prayer and prasing, while standing and singing.

Are you talking about someone being slain in the Spirit?

That has happened at healing services that I have attended.

How is overwrought emotionalism spiritually edifying? And how do people who claim to have received a "word" know for sure that God is actually speaking to them without careful discernment of spirits? How can they be certain it isn't a devil whispering in their ear?

The movement is controversial in Catholic circles for good reason.

I’m talking about people rolling around on the floor (some even pretending to pass out) and others claiming they have direct line to God as though they’re on His special ping list.

It does have people who do discern things out.

When God spoke to you, what did He say and in what language did He say it?

Did God clap His hands and sing with y'all, also?

God Bless the Franciscans Friars of the Immaculate.

And may God help the Pope who has been persecuting them with no mercy.
