This is the teaching of the Catholic Church on the matter of salvation. Not assured, if we are not victorious. Assured, if we are not disqualified by our own action, or inaction.

HMMMmmm...

The bible seems to teach UNBELIEF as the disqualifier - not ACTION.

To be sure unbelief (as a positive position, not one taken out of ignorance) is a disqualifier, but certainly not the only one. At least this is where the difference between the AOG and the Presbyterians lies (at least one of the differences), not to mention the Catholic Church of course.

In other words, if one doesn’t believe any sin can “disqualify”, then one may be comfortable being a Presbyterian (since the AOG wouldn’t welcome you), or one could start one’s own “church” I guess. Either way seems to be “going it alone” to me.

The point being we now have at least 2 Protestant groups claiming to have the “truth” about salvation, but they differ from each other significantly. There is no identifiable “invisible church” binding them other than of course a belief in Jesus as the Savior and (in this case) a belief in the Triune nature of God. Which begs the question, “If that’s all that binds the true Church of Jesus Christ, then how does the question of salvation and the impact of sin thereon get answered?”

A question, by the way, I’m not interested in debating because the church I belong to doesn’t suffer from this problem. We don’t have disagreements about important stuff like whether or not we are still under the Mosaic law, or whether or not we can loose our salvation. We have disagreements about relatively minor stuff, like what is the best way to celebrate the Mass, or should nuns wear habits. But certainly nothing as grievous as what the “invisible church” suffers, which both I and other discussions on this very thread have demonstrated.

If you want to put your faith in that, if you want to believe that such cacophony and disorder is God’s plan, all I can say is: Good luck with that. But it’s certainly not the way for me.
